Oh yeah, lots of different grades from different parts of the husk. There are long thick fibers, the fine stuff you're talking about, croutons and others in between. It can be a great amendment, especially outdoors where perlite isn't advisable due to it being uber visible.

i use that bioterra plus, and it has foot long coco fibers, pretty cool to see.

Welp, huh, maybe some batches do... I've used it successfully my last two crops on a trial basis with no RA, though I did get some fungus gnats (easy enough to deal with). Soooo...

im on a very tight budget. actually there is no budget anymore. and i need soils for seedlings all the way to harvest. i am afraid to get the roots and others mainly because not only am i new to indoor growing, but also nutes. so since i am still messing up some on my nute schedule and strength, i think i'd be better off with the promix again, although this shit holds water for days!

How did you like it? What are you comparing against? Any specific inputs?
I cant 100% verify the RA comming from the Roots soil. What led me to believe that they did was, I am not the only one experiencing the problem, i got clones from a dispensary, and they arent native to my location. The dispensary doesnt have a big warehouse grow and doesnt take clones unless you order them (they arent out on display). Roots is overall a good soil, ill prob try either FF or Botanicare next.

i am new to indoors, not even 100 % sure what coco is, i need something symple AND effective. along wioth my nutes. which are organic if that matters at all

Yeah, I'm def not saying that they couldn't have come from that soil either. I've heard this same complaint before, so I'm holding my breath. I've used coco before, but I like having a true living soil and coco just doesn't have the cation exchange capacity necessary to promote that on its own.
get a starter kit from technaflora approx 40.00and use that with pro- mix a nd some supertrive 5.00and a product called massive for flowering 25-30 dollars once they get started go with feed water feed instead of what they say feed water water feed increase dosage after 3 weeks flowering then back off later flush last 10-14 days WORKS GREAT FOR ME good luck

No shit, that's pretty awesome. I've used different variations of his recipe for a couple of years now, though I don't make it quite as strong, I still like to feed a little bit. I wonder how the pricing will be...

there's a thread in his subforum where a guy asks him if he can buy some, and he responded by saying they were still in 'testing' phase (he wants to grow out all TGA gear with all the bidder's mixes) but he's hoping for distribution sometime in 2012....

i ended up using the elcheapo for seedlings. plan on getting the roots or promix next week for the 2 week transplant, well some of them wont need it.
the texture of this is SO different. seems more like a lanscaping finisher than a potting soil. LOTS of bark.
but i put my seedlings in em cause it was that or put em in nothing.
im thinking the 22 liter bottles (they have the kgrow soil) wont need a tplant untill sex. not sure, but think so. i have about 25 seedlings. going to cull all but 12 fems when the day comes. just hoping this soil isnt total crap. seeing it side by side with the promix will be definative though.

Get the ProMix. It's good stuff and easy to work with, either by amending it, or bottled nutes, or both.
Spend the $5 and get a bag of lime. Dolomite or Garden, just not hydrated. It will save you SO many headaches down the road and the cost is minimal.
If you can afford it, some more Perlite to add to that mix, it can stand it.
But the lime is pretty much essential, working with peat based mixes.

yeah im hoping to get to the hydro shop they have 4 doller bags o perlite, and also the dolomite. planning on using that if i can too. pretty much just using the bagsoil, for the first few weeks, untill they are ready for plant into 3 gall bags. then the soil will be the promix/perlite/lime, mix. planning on sexxing them in the 2 liters ( found out no store up here sells 3 liter bottles wtf) culling the males. since they are the same 2 strains im assuming they will sex in a pretty tight time frameso cull the males. transplanting the girls into the bags then they are going right back into veg for another week or so. before going back into flower to finish. im hoping this way ill be able to only transplant females.
