Actually, there are programs at some sewage treatment facilities where the treated waste product is composted with wood products for a year or so and then sold as garden mulch. Works very well as a top dressing. Would I put it on my cannabis plants? Probably not, but only for psychological reasons....compost from those programs would be fine. My greatest concern with that product was the level of heavy metals. Where I got mine, the MSDS sheet was fine, but in higher population areas, might have a higher concentration of householder cleaners, etc. (I try and stay fairly organic.)

Google "sewage treatment facilities" + mulch or compost. You might find a program close to you.

ill stick to azamite and kelp tho
ever heard of Milorganite? Processed sludge from the Minneapolis/St.Paul sewage sys. May contain some heavy metals.
However if you know industrial waste isn't in it, I would say it's safe....enough. I use dog, bat chicken, horse, goat...manures. Use what you have. If you're a fisherman, I couple of carcasses at the bottom of your hole is good. Just like the indigenous people taught the Pilgrims...

I'm with MountainGarden and Shizz on this. I'm told it's OK to use "milorganite" as it is called (thanx Azoned), but I'm also told Bull nuts are good eating. I'm thinking I'll stick with a ribeye. Human feces is chock full of pathogens, most notably E. Coli. WHY would someone in THIS country even think about it? I can see in under-developed 3rd world countries where it might start looking good as an alternative fert, but JEESUS!! I just cant get my mind around that one.

It's actually still very common in some Asian countries.
Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, etc.

all composts are cooked, decomposition creates heat. and adding human feces to plant doesnty mean your plant is eating human shit. they use nutrients and micronutrients we didnt, the actual shit just helps the dirt. it is not dangerous (if made right) it works good (from what i can find, id rather pa y 3 bucks for a bag of cow manure.)

LOL!

There was quite a bit of talk about this in the 70's and 80's. Treated, there's not much to worry about, being the consensus.

I figured it wasn't worth the hassle due to odor problems(fresh) and cost(treated).

As a kid, there were a lot of hispanic families on the ranches in the area. Some kept gardens, and taught their kids to poop in the corn. You could smell the gardens for quite a distance.

I'm living "in the world" where all grains (ie cereals) are grasses.
Correct. However, the majority of meat produced are corn fed. It appears that the grains from these crops have a negative effect on the digestive systems of the animals. You may be interested in a docu called King Corn. Here is a link to their trailer
You only have to worry about the "shit" that goes into fertilizing the crops you eat!
That is a worry...so to minimise that I grow as much food as I can myself and grow it mostly veganic (human manure and chicken poo cancel out the vegan part - but all diets are plant based)

Manures don't make your weed taste like manure, that's the dumbest post Iv ever read, I award you zero points and may the lord have mercy on your soul.
Your an idiot, I know from experience that cow shit will make your weed taste like cow shit because I've actually done it. There are other threads stating that fish emulsion made their weed taste fishy. Also how do you explain cat piss weed? Obviously grown by cat owners. Another thing you won't be able to find on threads and in text books (which is obviously all you know) is that they will obtain certain traits from their environment ie. flowering time, smell/taste hermaphroditic tendacys, the anthocyanin gene that makes them turn purple in cold weather etc. When the settlers brought pigs over it only took three generations in the wild to start growing tusks and courser hair. Herreken, you must be smokin way too much bat guano because you seem a little batty. LOL

Just for the record...
I have 2 old outhouses on my property and intend to plant in the "deposits". Mind you, these have been out of commission for 30yr, at least.
anyone remember the book [the author's name escapes me at the moment] "The Grass is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank".....

"cat piss weed" isnt called that because it was grown by cat owners
You don't think your weed would start to taste like cat piss if your cat pissed in it three times a day and carry this trait to its offspring? Just look in your textbook, page ... "SLAP"
