Anyone heard of "popcorn" mexi strain?

I few yrs back we got this uncompressed mexi the vatos called "popcorn" bud.
Popcorn was straight from the boarder an sold at mexi brick prices.
It was dank as he'll an had the biggest seeds! Large as peas.
I figured they had to special so I planted a few 2 yrs ago.
They were hard to germ cause the shell was hella hard.
The coconut seed were the biggest seedling of the group, about double the size of the others.
And very very indica (highland?) looking, at a month the leafs were as wide as they were long.
But they were eaten outdoors early that year an I didn't harvest em.
Still got a few, an traded a few to someone for his outdoor grow this year.

If anyone else has has info about this crazy plant please share it?
I talked with a guy from Texas who knew about it an wonder if there is more out there?

Popcorn isnt a strain name, its a description of the buds. Little small chunks of popcorn sized buds.

As said above. Its the smaller puffier buds that people generally dont want.

I think we talked on another forum.I think they call it popcorn b/c they heard a gringo call it that,i'm not sure what it is,some kind of cross, maybe no Mex. genetic in it at all.I have some on the way.B/c of your description of the plant I'll run 2 of these on my next grow and post on here.
I have some very rare land race Mex sativas but i believe they're to difficult to grow indoors.Very long flower time.
Thanks for the info on the popcorn.I'll talk to my friends in MEX. and see if i can find out more about it.

Srry I forgot to mention,I know what popcorn bud are lol..

This was top colas uncompressed the size of my forearm an hand for 100$. An it was very good bud!
But the seeds were wild. HUGE!
The ones I got left are the smallest, but they are twice the size of any in my collection.
I'll prolly have to run one outdoors this year now that I'm thinking about em.
Such vigor....

Its possible they got their seed from some indoor grow where someone sold them popcorn buds, they regrew the seeds and just called it popcorn weed. From the sound of your description, it doesnt sound like any true mexibud. What an odd name for a strain though if its in fact bred to be called popcorn bud. I'll call my next strain "powder mold" or "hermilicious"
