I was wondering if anyone has successfully gone through this process and how did it go. Was there any lag where you were left with out plastic? If so what are you suppose to do?

I have friends who have and my patient currently is.

If you print of the form yourself and send it in you will have no issues.

If you wait till they send you the form you may be cutting it close.

The Dept. now has two new and improved printers which should start to speed things up!

It all depends on the case. Like my wife had back surgery so she did not have to go see a Dr again. But if it's something mild, yeah you would have to see a Dr again. None the less when you go after your card again, you are protected from that date on, then you have one full year from the time you get your new card which around here takes 3 months.

they have been saying that since january at least.

goldenganja-that doesnt sound right, who decides whether a patient is required to see the doc again? im pretty sure everyone has the same rules and you need a doctors rec every time you renew.

I keep hearing about these 2 new printers for about a month now and how they are supposed to speed things up but I still dont see it.

That I agree with.

Let me be more clear~ You must always see the MMJ Clinics Doctor being he is the one that signs the "prescription", but what I am saying is you do not have to go to a regular Doctor to have your condition re-evaulated. In certain cases ie, aids-MS-Back Surgery-C-etc.

Bump bump. I have about 4 months left on my card. Anyone gone through this yet? My concern is being stuck without plastic again for like 4-5 months. I know they have new printers and all, but I don't want to deal with BS. I just feel like, even though it's the law now, leo still have raging semis for all of us. LEO " It's against federal law." DEA paraphrasing here "...if they're not breaking state law we don't care." I'm curious how many other federal laws do LEO concern themselves with?

I applied in the middle of August and still haven't received my card. I was wondering the very same thought about renewals.

My wife (Oregon) renewed her card in May. Her new card did not come in until September. Thats good news though, being the date is for one year starting September 2010, and while you wait for your card you get a papers that you have to carry with you.

Thanks for the feed back, this was my concern. I know some leo will be good about it, while others will only honor the plastic.

When I went through the process the first time I only hard my records until the card showed up. It's good to know that they changed that, but if how long will it take to get that stamped paper? If they can do that in a reasonable amount of time, how bout they just get the cards out. Secretary of the State doesn't have a problem getting out drivers license, and they give you temporary paperwork to tide you over. Oh well, I'll just keep doing my part and the state can do whatever they want.
