I really need some love this morning. I feel like I've made some friends here and that's what I need right now, friends.
I've been working through a 3rd party with this company in India to build my website and an iPhone app that will market the site. I hired them in January. They've been screwing with me since March. It became obvious in May that they were a very dishonest company and were really only after my banking information. The 3rd party and I entered into a dispute with them. They still didn't cooperate. When I won the dispute, they decided to get evil. I got this email today because they were informed that some money that was being held in escrow by the 3rd party would be released to me to cover some of my damages. It's about 1% of what my losses are but they are lashing out at me. This is the email I got from them today.
"We already have lot of partners who are interested in buying the intellectual property developed, therefore I don’t think so it will be necessary for us to file a case at this juncture.
Therefore we will simply sell it and exit from this dispute.

The thing is I'm working for ME. I've put in seriously 50 hours a week for 2 years on this project. I own the trademark. I own the intellectual property. It was all my idea. I had 4 employees working on the marketing and the graphic for 2 years. Really, I'm going to lose it.

You say you have a trademark for it? What about a patent filed under your name? It seems like these people are just trying to use some scare tactics to get you to leave your ideas behind then they can rape them. There your Ideas There your BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS - Dont let anyone take what is yours. I am sure everything will work out, it may take some more work, but there is no sense in wasting so much of your time that you have invested. Lets tracks these jihads down.

I have the trademark but it's a US trademark. Patents take too long, are too costly, and I don't really believe in them. These motherfuckers are evil. They have an office in Virginia and Jersey but one is a post office box store and the other is a house in a residential area. I Google earthed the locations. (a bit too late I admit) It's hard to touch companies in India. I can't roll over and die but I don't really have any options.
