Any need to trim the sugar leaves off if you are vaping or ingesting?

Like the title says, is there any need to trim anything before big fan leaves with petioles before you dry and grind you bud for a vaporizer or edibles/pills.

Also, is there need for a curing time with either method of medicating?

Cut the big fan leaves off because they don't have potency are taste bad.

From there on- you can vape the lot. I normally give the bud leaves (not the big fan leaves, but the little leaves that grow out of the bud) a bit of a hair cut. The amount I trim has to do with how much resin cover those leaves have. On average I guess I cut them in half. I don't actually grind up the bud before vaping it in my volcano digital. All i do is pick buds apart by their little stems into smaller balls. I don't make a effort to remove stem. While picking buds into smaller ones, the main stem of it will usually get stripped then chucked but the smaller tips of stem attached to little buds just go in the vape. It's not being burnt so doesn't taste bad or get in the way. Same goes for seeds if you have them- they are are not noticeable in the vape... and actually I like to eat seeds that have been baked like that so it's like a treat after smoking lol.

If you were smoking, these little bits of stem, bud leaf and seed would be harsh and taste bad- but vape it's no problem at all.

I just re-read what you said and realised you asked another question
Does it need to cure for vaping? Well, no... but that's a bit like saying you don't need a car to travel 50 miles (you got a long walk ahead of you...). lol do you get what I mean? It works but you don't wanna do it that way.

I've done it before at times when i've run out but am waiting for bud to finish. I've either let it sit for 1 day or it's gone straight off the plant and into the vape. You have to do it a few times as the first few runs will be just flavored air but it will start to vape after doing it over and over and yes you will get stoned. This is for sure because i've got high off 6wk old (flowering) buds off a plant which didn't finish until about 8 weeks at least.
It ruins the taste though and i'm sure that even if your plant is fully ripe it will still ruin the potency of the high. Do it only if you are desperate.

You ever bought some weed that seems stringy? well its like that when you do a bad trim and though the smaller leaves don't taste as harsh they still do,It's an extra buzz to the buds so go for it.Me personally would trim all of it off knowing,it will be a lil harder to break down later on.

You talking about vaping or burning it?
I keep half the little leaf because it's covered in resin and because to vape it's good. It can taste like the bud does- so for the mango tasting bud i'm vaping at the moment that little leaf tastes like mango too.

Burning it is another story though.

If you are just making extracts (butter, wax, etc.) you can pretty much just chop the plant, remove the fan leaves and get to work. If you are going to vape the actual plant material, it would benefit from a cure.
