That's a rough start, but they can recover from a lot. Out in the sunlight, than back inside? That you have to be careful with. Too big a temperature difference can be trouble. If your light setup is ok, try keeping inside for a while. Not clear what happened with your roots/soil. But if you replace soil roots will recover. May take a few days for roots to grow back though. The burn from the light, it can get by that too, just make adjustments, keep a few inches from the t5.

Ok, that's a little clearer. Pea gravel will be rough, I've think you've graduated from a soil grow to more of a hydro setup. I'm not too knowledgeable on growing in gravel, but it can be done. You would need to water with a very dilute water solution of nutrients. If you can't afford soil, nutes will be a problem. And it's tricky, you need to be precise in ph/nute levels. Sorry I can't help more on that.
As to the light, sounds like a fluoro of some sort. If so, adjusting every day is a good idea.

If you're in a pinch for funds, might want to consider some organic ferts that you could salvage from the kitchen. Coffee grounds can be used for nitrogen, egg shells for calcium, banana peel for potassium. Coffee grounds are strongly acidic, so be light on them if available. Try reading a little in the organic section if interested. It can be the cheapest way to go.

cats man! at least yours didnt devour your plant. mine was almost a month int veg and my cat ate the whole damn thing, didnt leave a leaf behind. i think your plant could recover. i dont understand why you cant afford soil. even if you cant afford like a 30lb bag of it, you could just get some out of the ground. or even if your soil is shitty sneak into a neibors garden and steal a shovel ful or something. i dont really understand what or why you put rocks in instead of some dirt but to retransplant it would be too much stress after its ordeal. good luck man, and keep those cats outta your room

this was from post #1 of my first journal and my first plant. Apr of 2008.

April 20 plant 1 poked it’s head out of the ground. I have it in a 2 litter soda bottle with potting soil. I also planted 6 more bag seeds to see what would happen.
I’m keeping plant 1 in the window sill. On a few sunny days it set in the back yard.

During this time my kitten chewed off half of one of the second set of leaves.

this was my fisrt pic i posted on rollitup (back left is the kitten chewed plant)

I was shocked to learn just every thing wrong.

but this is a clone from that first plant.

The Attitude Seed Bank is a good place to shop for seeds.

the reason why i cant afford it is cause im on a tight budget right now.......i was think n about use n some dirt from out side......but then there is the possibilities that there might be bugs, pest, and anything to delay my plant........my plant is starting to wilt even more.....i have the lights 6 inches way from they top and side.....any suggestions.....

Outside dirt isn't the best usually. You can de-pest though with a bit of heat. Oven on low(very low), hot air dryer, under black plastic out in the sun. If your plant is still in pea gravel, it's likely in trouble. Probably won't last long without some very precise nutes.
If you can mix in some nute source(not a lot, that will burn) into some outside dirt, that is probably your best chance. What you have on hand for organic, I don't know.
