Any female growers in Northern Cali?

Okay, so this is only my third summer here - and my first year of growing entirely on my own (spent the first two with a great mentor) - but I'm noticing the lack of female representation in this area. Sure, the ladies seem to make up the bulk of the trimmers and 'helpers' - but not actual growers.

Last time I was buying supplies (bamboo, nutrients, etc.) - I asked a store employee about one of the products I was thinking about purchasing. He smiled at me, told me that I probably didn't need the product (without answering my question) - and as I was walking away, chuckled with another customer - "Isn't she cute? She thinks she knows how to grow." Yeah, I'm a wuss. I just walked away. I shop at a different store now, though. Luckily there are plenty of them in the area.

Anyway, would love to hear from some other female growers out there. Feeling sort of alone out here in the woods.

Happy growing!
Greetings from the Colorado Rockies, I am a female grower, pretty new to all of it. Just shy of a year, but am absolutely loving it! I am growing indoors and outdoors this summer. Just thought I would jump on and say hi! I hear ya about not being given the same respect that the men get, it sucks. I guess all of us women will have to work on changing their stereotype of women growers and thrown down some dank plants. After awhile they will get over it, maybe!

So just curious what all us "girls" are growing currently. We are running outside, Wifi, Jedi Kush and Death Star. Inside we are running, Death Star, Wifi, Tahoe OG, Grape Ape, Rocklock, Pre98 Bubba, Sour Kush, Blueberry, Sour D and Black Cherry Soda.

mmmm...nice line up Rae :) I am currently doing a BlueDream x Orange OG cross, 2 Crossroads #3, a Mikey (so named because it was a grower named Mike's bagseed lol), and a Skunky Monkey outside. Inside, I have 4 autos started: Chocolate Skunk, Anesthesia, Pounder, and White Widow.

Get your grow on girls!

Fumble nice line up, what is that Blue Dream Orange OG like? We have some other projects going on for the next flower cycle, growing out some testers for some local breeders. I will have to go look and see what we have, some of it of course nobody had heard of, yet!

Thanks Rae :) I haven't had any yet, but was told it is super citrusy mixed with the BD. I am excited. My autos will be staying outside for the duration. I just can't see turning on the light when the sun is free. I will run 4 autos inside next run.

Hella cool you are testing strains. It's nice to have stuff no one else does I bet.

Fumble - it is really cool to grow testers, not anything people can get in a Dispensary! We definitely lucked out meeting a master grower for a dispense. I too am passionate about Medibles, that is my calling. I make cookies, brownies, candy, caramels, blondes, biscotti, dog treats (I dosed one of my dogs for the last two months of his life. Now I just found out my 9 year old Anatolian has cancer, no way in hell he is going through chemo and radiation. I will be dosing him as well with tinctures, salves and dog treats) and English toffee. Have also done tinctures, but need to work on my skills with that. What type of stuff do you run edible wise?

That is so awesome Rae :) I have been making them for 2 years now. I love it! I will medicate anything and everything lol. I have a very full menu of regular items, but I get bored making the same things over and over, so I am always experimenting. I just made lemon curd the other day and OMG! I mixed a big spoonful with some vanilla flavored Greek yogurt and it tasted just like cheesecake! I just figured out how to make ice cream too. So so many possibilities.

That is great that you were able to help your dog in his last days. I have medicated mine for pain as well, but in tiny tiny amounts. She is a Boxer, about 9 or so. Sorry to hear about your Anatolian :(

OMG, your comment on lemon curd literally made my mouth water, me loves me some Greek yogurt as well! I too get bored with the regulars, I am a caregiver so I am always trying new recipes and giving them to patients for feedback, lol. I recently made a White Chocolate coconut blonde, but cooked it in our smoker. Yes I said our smoker, you can cook anything on it so I thought why not Medibles! Of course they are out of this world, the smoker gives everything a little bit of something extra that you cannot put your finger on.

yea it sucks on the animals, but glad I have an alternative treatment for him. We can control the dose, the strain, the potency and the method of medicating him.

Too cool Rae. What part of the state are you in? I am in Sacramento. what a neat idea with the smoker ;) I can think of all kinds of things to do in that!

Well if that is all it takes...You gotta have some balls to put yourself out there and to be able to take the criticism and praise. I am just saying often people rip each other in these forums. Everyone forgets we are all doing this for the love of MJ, jealous kicks in and all. Just stupid, IMO

very true. Hate jealousy and don't understand it. If you jealous, do it better then ;)

I just saw on the open show and tell thread, you are in Colorado. Nice :)

I know a lot of females that own and run large non canna green houses that are ten times more complex then the
average indoor/outdoor grow. Frankly I think most woman were smart enough to not enter the market in till it became
some what legitimate. I have been at this for a long time and have had to deal with a bunch of shady shit, that the
average female would have no interest in dealing with.
