Another Ron Paul Thread

I turned on the TV last night to Anderson Cooper, who moderated the most recent GOP debate, blasting the Ron Paul campaign for lying to raise money.

The Ron Paul campaign made a claim that RP wasn't allowed to talk for 40 minutes strait, and used that "fact" to rally the base against the "mainstream media" in a fundraising letter to supporters. Anderson Cooper laid it all out on his show, highlighting every time Ron Paul spoke -for a total of 11 times (the least was Rick Santorum at 9, the most was Romney and Perry but Bachmann and Gingrich spoke 11 times as well so that's fair) - and the longest he went without speaking was ~19 minutes. They even counted how long he spent talking each time, which again was middle of the pack (he actually spent more TIME speaking than Cain who spoke 15 times but for only 9 minutes). Anderson Cooper then went on to note that Ron Paul has been on his show AC360 7 times this year - more than any other candidate.

Surely Romney and Perry monopolized the event to an extent, but most of that was because other candidates kept on mentioning them which by rules allowed them to respond.

So is RP just a big fat whiner? I think so, at least in this case.

yea just like how fox highlighted Romney & Perry fighting and being little babies... when RP actually won the debate not a word about that

Because he didn't win the debate? IMO no one won that debate, Romney came out ahead of the rest of the Republicans, but that "debate" did nothing but hurt the Republicans for the general election.

We just need a thread that says "RON PAUL" and be done with it, you all are flooding this section with every bit of information that comes out of his campaign that truly does not deserve its own thread.

EFF anderson cooper! trying to undermine the coverup, the letter was wrong or they included commercial time..so what?

The fact that anderson's teleprompter went out of its way to pick this out to try to act like hes exposing some big marketing scam...The Ron Paul coverup is real and its not a marketing scam, just because some marketer couldn't get his facts straight doesn't blow this stories cover. You can't hide the facts. (this 40 minute figure not being one of the facts obviously)..

You can wade through the 500 page Ron Paul thread if you like and see how I exposed the coverup for 4 or 5 months straight...Or try watching the mainstream media yourself if you can stomach it and see how they blatantly have a blackout on him.

When they do bring him on its to smear him and for like 2 to 3 minutes at a time, when he wins the polls then they don't talk about him winning or they say the polls not important, they added 'Boo-ing' sounds to a video of his CPAC acceptance speech for godsakes. There is just too much for me to fit on 100 pages...its glaringly obvious...

Cooper is a ****ing liar. We've already witnessed his bias in the 2008 debate where he cut off Ron Paul, told him he would let him finish his statement in 2 minutes, then never let him finish his statement.

Because he didn't win the debate? IMO no one won that debate, Romney came out ahead of the rest of the Republicans, but that "debate" did nothing but hurt the Republicans for the general election.
First, how did Romney come out ahead when he continuously lied? When Rick Perry called him out he said "I have never hired illegals" than he refuted himself a moment later by saying "I didn't know there were illegals working for the company"

Newly obtained White House records provide fresh details on how senior Obama administration officials used Mitt Romney’s landmark health-care law in Massachusetts as a model for the new federal law, including recruiting some of Romney’s own health care advisers and experts to help craft the act now derided by Republicans as “Obamacare.”
The records, gleaned from White House visitor logs reviewed by NBC News, show that senior White House officials had a dozen meetings in 2009 with three health-care advisers and experts who helped shape the health care reform law signed by Romney in 2006, when the Republican presidential candidate was governor of Massachusetts. One of those meetings, on July 20, 2009, was in the Oval Office and presided over by President Barack Obama, the records show.
“The White House wanted to lean a lot on what we’d done in Massachusetts,” said Jon Gruber, an MIT economist who advised the Romney administration on health care and who attended five meetings at the Obama White House in 2009, including the meeting with the president. “They really wanted to know how we can take that same approach we used in Massachusetts and turn that into a national model.”

Secondly, I agree. I got that email as well and watched the debate afterward and it seemed to me that was the most fair debate toward Ron
Paul so far this year. I still donated, however.

Well , This was the first debate Ron Paul ever got good time in...but maybe the letter meant to say that he only spoke one minute in the first 40 minutes because that would be true.

Just for the relevance of the topic, I'll quote the email in question

At one point in the first hour of last night's CNN Republican debate, blacking out almost took on a whole new meaning.

You see, it can be awfully hard to be on stage for nearly 40 minutes between speaking. Yes, 40 minutes.

That's how long the mainstream media tried to keep my views out of the debate at one point.

Closing statements? Well, some of the candidates got them.

I will give you one guess who didn't.

No matter. Let's make TODAY our closing statement.

It is time to tell them: Black THIS Out!

If you were watching last night, two things should have stood out to you. First, as noted above, the media continues their old tricks of propping up their preferred candidates with more airtime while ignoring those who challenge the status quo.

Second, there was only one candidate on the stage last night who:
** Threatens their status quo by telling the American people the truth about the fiscal mess and moral decay our current policies have created;
** Understands the full problem, including the role of the Federal Reserve and the role of our foolhardy foreign policy;
** Has offered a concrete plan to balance the budget and to cut ONE TRILLION dollars in the first year of his Presidency.
Today, I obviously need your help to get this message out.

There is no way we can count on the friendly treatment from the media that so many of the other front-running candidates have received.

So today, I am asking you to dig deep. I am asking you to sacrifice. I am asking you to help me tell the establishment they can Black THIS Out!

As part of the rollout for my Plan to Restore America, I have two new TV ads I will run beginning this weekend.

I have mailers ready to go to early state voters. I have the best grassroots team in politics.

What I must have now is your support.

As a matter of fact, we've already raised over $650,000 in the first few hours of today's Money Bomb!

So I hope you'll join in if you haven't already by donating whatever you are able by clicking here.

The results of our efforts to go around the media so far have been incredible.

Voters all across the nation are giving our campaign one straw poll victory after another - including at such influential events as the recent Values Voter Summit.

And we continue to have more support from active duty servicemen and women than all my opponents COMBINED.

The reason we're doing so well despite the media blackout is simple.

When the American people hear the full, accurate story about my unmatched record in support of liberty, it becomes clear that I am the true constitutional conservative in this race, and my support grows.

Despite all of our success, however, there is much more ground to be gained.

That's why I hope you'll participate in today's Black THIS Out Money Bomb.

The media can pretend I don't exist, distort my positions, and make their bias abundantly clear on television.

But they can't take away our passion, our enthusiasm, and our dedication.

Today's Money Bomb is about making your voice heard.

It's about proudly stating that no force on earth can stop your fight to be free.

And it's about ensuring that I can tear through the media blackout and take our message directly to the American people.

This campaign doesn't get the big checks from the well-entrenched special interests.

I'm depending entirely on grassroots American Patriots like you to help me win the White House and make the fundamental changes necessary to get this country back on track.

Please, stand with me today by contributing as generously as you can to the Black THIS Out Money Bomb.

Thank you for your support.

For Liberty,

<img alt="" style="margin:0px" align="" border="0">

Ron Paul

P.S. The Black THIS Out Money Bomb is taking place right now, and I hope you'll contribute as generously as you can toward our efforts to get the truth out to the American people.

The establishment is throwing everything it has at me, and today we can prove that none of their tricks will stop us from advancing this campaign and winning this race.

So I hope you'll join thousands of other grassroots Americans today in standing up for our message of freedom.

more, more, more, .... :hump:

because the first time wasn't good enough? :?
It's not like their holding a gun to your head. You willingly give them your information, what do you expect them to do with it? It's a grass roots campaign and those need money to succeed. You don't hear RP supporters whining about it.
