Hello RIU community, new member, first grow, and currently wondering what I've done wrong.
I've got three ladies that are 25 days into flower and they aren't near as tall as i was expecting. I started the two on the left on the 19th of September and the monstrosity on the right has a story all her own. I've been using fox farms simple soil plan and using big bloom, grow big, and started the tiger bloom when i dropped their to 12&12. I just blasted their undersides with cold water(mites...grrr) and flushed them today. Since it is already lights out I'll have to get pics tomorrow. As i was saying, they are only about 2 ft. tall. Basically I'm asking if i messed up somehow.

Welcome man. Pics will help a lot when you can post them. There's a lot of good advice to be found here. Some bad too, lol, you just have to figure out who's giving the correct advice and ignore the others.

Are you feeding full strength nutrients? Also, blasting your plant with cold water causes shock. Just take into account that a lot of little shocks will result in stunted growth.

The cold water blast was just to knock as many of the little bastards off as I could before the ladies went back into their freshly cleaned tent. I have a closeup of one of their tops.20200122_220947.jpg20200122_220947.jpg

Oh ok when you said grrr I interpreted it as something you had done more than once. If that is not the case... several shocks will still result in stunted growth. It's just not what you were doing so in retrospect would seem unnecessary. By products of vague information...

I was thinking it could be planter size, i thought i had them in three gallon containers but I'm actually thinking that they may only be 1.5. Which could explain their diminutive size. They were under a 600 watt led for their veg cycle and i upped them to 1000 for flower. I just haven't seen the 200-300% size increase I've read about. Full disclosure, I've read Jorge Cervantes, and Ed Rosenthal's books cover to cover, so while a noob, Im a studied noob.

If you have mites you have more problems than the height of your plants. All cold water does is give them a drink of nice cool water. They'll thank you for that. You need to start thinking of alternative methods for ridding the mites like prayer, black magic, excorcism, nuclear warfare, constant playing of trump speeches, etc., then worry about the yield once they're gone.

What brand of light do you have? Chances are it's not actually 600 or 1000 watt. Many LED companies list so called "Equivalent" wattages when in fact they're only pulling a couple hundred watts from the wall. It's nothing more than a marketing tactic to sell their product and doesn't reflect the actual amount of light being produced. It's also easy to judge by eye whether a container is 1.5 or 3 gallons.

Mornin' Johi,
It's a drag being a noob...we've all been there. It looked to me, in the photos, that you have also lightly kissed up against your nute upper limits. Tiny brown tips on a few leaves. Doesn't hurt anything. seen guys watch for that as the increase nutes...to find the upper limit.

I'd drop nutes a bit...but your call. Just don't increase till plant is bigger and doing better..

Hey man you have to battle them mites. I know your in flower I was also when I found mites. I used mightywash it is safe for flowering. No one wants to spray there buds but I can tell you it worked. I did rinse my plants in the shower a few days after treatment to remove them nasty fuckers.

Are they from seed or clones ,i would advice seed from the start ,Then if you know someone who can be trusted clones but buy a eye scope so you can check the clones,After this set is done bleach the rooms .I ditch any plant with mites .I know they can be got rid of but its harder than you think take my word for it .Ive been do this for near on 20 year now.But still grow them out now may has well .Has for size go on height rather than age,i flower at 16/18 inch ,but strip the bottoms ,but not to much i use those for oil . Its the reason i have insect netting with the smallest screen i can buy, normally the door screens. For my next set ,and never touch the ones after ya been in that room ,what i mean about messing about.I use a pair of the paper overalls and gloves around mites and then i still wash my hands to make sure i'm not carrying anything to next gen

On the left are #s 1&4 (2&3 were Male), on the right is the Monstrosity, and in the box is a clone from #4(a branch broke off in the last transplant). I only know the mother's side of 1&4's genetics. Their seeds came from a "bag", you could say. We actually went back and got more because of the seeds, we ended up with 30 good looking possibilities. Their mother was Pineapple Express.

So how would one tell actual wattage? All I have to go off of is their flimsy "owners manual"
