Another mass shooting.

You strike me as one of those folks that always takes a gun and never leaves one.
Let's think about this objectively for a second.

They attack Democrats at every chance and say Trump is the "best thing ever"

Use homophobic, anti-semetic and racist slurs

Say racism will go away if we don't talk about it and that Nazi marching is free speech

Oppose gun control measures

Now Id like people to tell me what party they'd assume the aforementioned are affiliated to?

but hasn't this been suggested?
Yes. And the NRA spends about 140 million dollars per year fighting it.

guns are money, it would be like trying to register every penny.
There are roughly 280 million guns in the U.S.

There are roughly 300 million cars, trucks and commercial vehicles all registered in the U.S.

So you're saying we can do it to drive and ship the guns across the country, but not the guns themselves?

That's brilliant.

Edit to add: You know cash? All those bills? 1.2 trillion dollars worth of it? It's all individually numbered and registered. All of it.

Ok. Follow it back to the failure and prosecute them. Fix the system.

Aren't most laws on the honor system? So we ban assault weapons. Then what? Use the honor system for people to turn them in?

I'm sure it won't make them feel better.

Doesn't change the guy broke the law to get the gun and there was a failure in the system.

This guy was a clear danger and nothing was done.
Yeah, this is a totally isolated case. Did you forget about the idiot in Vegas so soon? He died surrounded by all those sexy, sexy weapons. Oh, but he broke the law by turning them on a large crowd, so let's just throw our hands up and say "fix the system" without restricting gun sales.

Yeah, not a "guns situation".

Be a smart ass all you want. Doesn't change the fact that dude broke the law obtaining the gun.

Yes, I am being a smartass though I do not mean it as an insult to you. But this is a serious issue. Did the Vegas shooter break the law too?

And lest you think that I have no stake in this, I own a rifle of that caliber as well. The laws need to be changed and sales severely restricted.

I heard someone on NPR say it was day 310 and there had been 308 multiple shootings so far this year. See? Not too bad. Less than one a day.

There is something that doesn't add up to me in this argument. Texas refused his application for a concealed carry permit. They knew something was wrong, any idea what that was? Is the system such a low budget automat for gun sales that anybody can lie on a form and if the database isn't perfect, they get their gun? No database is perfect, as exemplified here. Something was known about the shooter that prevented him for getting a permit. Why wasn't his application flagged for a person to follow up?

I know, because Texas, NRA, Republican congress and gun lobby. I'm just saying that your argument doesn't ring completely true to me.

Well it turns out that a significant percentage of domestic abuse cases don't get reported correctly. Oh well, I guess we should fully expect them to answer the form correctly - but then they won't have a "bad bitch" to take home.
