A bit too tired to do a full write up right now. But wanted to post some pics of my current progress. Been working on my intake system. Framed a loft that will house my "fan modular" It's a frame to fit the loft space. Inside I attached the 3 inline fans. 1 fan will be for the flowering lights. Another for the Veg lights. And the other is the main inlet.

Have some of the wall coverings started. Although not shown in full. The res tanks are framed and ready for final touch up before more testing. Need to take the clone box down tomorrow to finish the ceiling and get the rest of the dry wall on. More updates soon.

My fans are from HTG. Over all I'm not impressed with the inline fans. They are out of balance. Rattle badly if not overly secure. Not impressed with overall air movement. Although I have no point of reference on this. Once it's all setup, I'll see how it performs, but an early bet would be that these may be upgraded soon for more robust models. You can also see how not so plumb that wall is. Big gap on my ceiling to wall covering there. Will fix this soon.

But what we will be looking at on what I'm doing is the bottom left wall on pic 1 and the bottom elevation from pic 2. Originally these were going to be cabinets. I still may do cabinets below, but I made a loft for this area now which houses the inlet duct work.


Here is a close up side view of my fan module. The sofit will be covered and atachd with screws thus removable for later use. Inside the sofit I have the fan module that holds my 3 inline fans. you can see I just sandwiched some lumber for the filter shuttle.


A bit larger view of the wall. Will have a better idea of the work space I'll have here. as you can tell it's a fucking mess in here right now. It's to the point where things are so close to get done that the mess is getting in the way. Will be doing lots of clean up tomorrow.


Another shot showing more of the left part of the room. This and the above photo were taken from me sitting inside of the mother res tank. can see lots of stuff going on here. I laid out the duct as it will come out of the soffit. The first one breaks and turns to the mother area. The secone one will come out the next area of the soffit with a grill vent on top of the panel. The last one will swoop through the top left of the room there and turn for the flowering area. You can see the last 3 of 4 of the flowering res tanks on the left side of the photo. They are awaiting for the room to catch up before finishing those. Tank 1 has been tested with the fiberglass bondo method and has been holding water for 2 weeks now. The mother tank is prepped and ready for water testing with my next application I wanted to try. This weekend has all about the soffit though. Needed to get the main hole outside of the room cut for the air to get inside to my soffit. I'll have a cool little stealth write up on this soon.

Some more operational plans for ya. Will have some more pics of the space itself soon. Been cleaning in there, doing detail work and such. Hung drywall this past weekend. Started mudding last night. Focusing on the cloning area corner as the clone box is down in in the way. So I will get hat corner done thursday and the clone box back on the wall so I can finish the rest of the space.

Who knows when this fucking thing will get started, but it's getting more difficult with each and every day even more so now that it's truly starting to look like the room I envision. Hard to do such an in depth project with limited funds. It's all about spending 100 dollars here and there and doing the best I can with what I have. So until then, more teaser pics.

Ok so here is the framing on this view


Let's add some tile and some flooding trays and such. The main focus on this wall is all about the intake system. Going to have a removable panel so I can access and adjust fans (more like replace the fuckers) as needed.


I'm going to do a custom build my work vanity for the space. Since my whole system is modular. It will be sized up to hold the flood table. So what will happen is each 2 weeks period, I'll grab the tables and move them from space to space, including the vanity where I will do my trimming and cleaning of the hydroton and such. Also saving a spot for a custom chaise so I can chill out in there with the ladies and check them out.

AHH my man. Thanks for stopping by. Having my morning coffee and smoke. And then I'll go down and finish up my corner where the clone box goes and hang that bad boy back up. It's resting on my tanks right now and hogging up my work flow, so That should get back on it's wall tonight. I ordered half of my tiles and they should be in next week. After that my list of things to acquire will be:
2 HPS Lights, Dehumidifier, more timers and such. Panda film, and then should be ready to open up. I'll be so happy when I'm up and running. It's been a long time working on this room. As with everything I'm over killing my build from a design standpoint and don't recommend doing what I'm doing for anyone unless they have the full budget up front. It's too stressful. Thanks again for the kind words man.

For those of you who haven't seen Drop's room check it out. He's got the sickest flooring system around. Not to mention the plants are gorgeous.....

For a total noob, this totally blew my mind, lol.

Ok So things are moving along. Got the clone corner back in order, so from ehre on out, the rest of the drywall should move along without a hitch. I do my drywall over a 4 day period, so it should be all done this week minus the spot where it's open for me to do my plumbing which I'm set to start on when ever. The clone box took some damage while being off the wall. So I'm going to have to do some maintenance on that soon. I think also I may rebuild it. Not because of the MDF and the moistures worries like some have thought before. It's just so fucking heavy really. About 80 lbs or so if not more. I'm sketchy about leaving the cleats on there full time to support it. It looks kind of lame. But I can trim that and maybe make it into something cool below that area. Most likely I will have a humidifier right below the clone box, so this is always subject to change. Something else I noticed is that my stupid can lights in the ceiling look out of place. This is because I set them based on my original flowering box being 3x3 or 4x4, so now my lights look kind of retarded where they are especially the 1 is inadvertently above the clone box.

So all morning while I'm doing work, my phone is blowing up with texts and calls..... Last week 1 of my suppliers not only stiffed me on a delivery on friday, but saturday, and sunday, he really swears he's on his way and he'll be there by 3 pm. Suffice to say, the asshole stiffed me again. I lost a total of about 20 hours of my life waiting for him to get me my bud. So his messages and phone calls today are like hey man sorry, my phone broke, blah blah blah. Haven't replied back to him nor do I intended to. The whole time I'm looking at my phone and thinking to myself: "it's not a problem at all man, I'm in the process of eliminating you in the first place."

So here is the corner with it's troweled skim coat finish right before sanding this morning.

So this week goal is to get the drywall mudded and primed/painted
Start the test of the mother res tank. (most like next weekend)
The test will last a week. (the flower tank #1 has been holding its water for about a month or so now. No leaks. Again that was the fiberglass method. I think his name is coreyb or something like this. I can look up his name on here for ya if you would like to see his post on that. It really works well, and it's an option I would recommend to anyone who is doing a smaller diy tray or res. The mother tank is sporting my redgard water proofmembrane. It's priced very well. ANSI rated at 180psi using 2 or maybe 3 coats per directions. My tanks will not even be putting out 1PSI on the flowering tanks. (Didn't calculate the mother tank PSI) I am using 4 coats of this shit with fiberglass mesh on the corners) I'm feeling really good about this one. If this fails I have 2 options. Lose the tile and go straight ghetto rubber pond liner membrane. The other option is another brand of roll on water proofing and it's Blue Max. Found this one on the DIY section here too. I think if money was no option this would be the best one to go with it. Lots of video support of it working too.
If everything goes well, at the end of march, it will be time to get the last 2 lights, dehumidifier, and timers/ switches. You never know with me, so my best guest start date is april or may. Keep your fingers crossed.

Could use some prayers and karma thoughts from the community. I don't even give a fuck about the room. I just want to have my tools safe so I can keep working. And have the house safe to live in without getting moldy air to live in.

I'm in the middle of a project at the moment too. Like you, and I'm sure most others, I draw and sketch my ideas out and think about them for hours, and then think about it some more. But I have to say when I saw your 3-d drawings I was like whaaaat?!? 3D?!?!? alright I guess I gotta step it up... lol j/k but I was impressed.

I'm curious. You mentioned "I don't even play video games anymore". There's only one video game I can think of that would suck you in like a project like this. Are you an ex WOW player?

I've played them all. Made a living off of ultima online and asherons call. Actually that was the most lucrative part of my life. I made about 500 dollars a week playing AC. I played wow beta and got my dorf up to level 40 before calling quits from boredom. There hasn't been anything good made since. Actually the only game I play frequently is DOW II. I took a lot of drafting in high school and architecture. I like to draw out my ideas when problem solving helps things come together. For a grow room it's a lot harder, because it's hard to visualize work flow and such, because I've never done it before. So this project is more like 50/50 planning to lego block building.

I'll take the karma all day my man. Was just massive flash flood. That on top of all the snow melting, something had to give. In this case, the city's water storm drains backed up. So The water got into about 8 houses in my area. More so others than me because of all the work I've done on the house. lol It's crazy.

The water is down now. Pump is still going. I have standing water down there, so that's good. I'm going to go clean up a bit of shit down there and secure any signs of me working on the room. Need to secure that up for insurance and nosey people. I did do some prep work for something like this. Because I knew this could be a possible thing, I put weep holes in the blocks. So the plan of attack is to get a big commercial dehumidifer down in the basement and then get into the room in a couple of days to assess the damage. Worse case scenerio, have to cut my fireshly hung dry wall out at the studs enough to pull my insulation out and replace that. Other than that the room should be ok, but won't know for sure til I get down there. Thanks again gang.

All the work I did on the house held up though and the drain tile did it's job. The area outside the house that wraps around the grow room exterior walls performed well especially around the area that I had to reinforce. There was no standing water on the outside of the house. So there was minimumal hydrostatic pressure on the house in that area. The mainculprit from my early investigations just now was that the city drains got backed up and water rose to the point that it put my garage blew grade and water came through there. (guess what area of the house I'm working on next? The water eventually rose above the hatch of the grow room and cascaded in that way. Good news though, all my res tanks were filled and they are holding water well!!!!!! The water level in the grow room is lower than that of the tanks which are filled to the max.

Bad news was that my tub filled with my gear filled with water and tipped. My MH Light is fine, but not sure of the ballast. It def got wet though as did some of my timers and stuff. It may dry out and work, but if it died, it's fine. the clone light was out of the clone box and I'm sure it took a hit. To what end not sure yet. It's inside the grow room in the mother area. So most likely it's gone. So all in all, this will set me back, but I'm not going to sweat it. Live and learn. This def has motivated a design change in that I will add another sump pump to the basement, and also 1 to the grow room itself. Will brain storm on this, because I only want one exit of air flow and such in the room. Not sure how much scent can escape through a sump pump line from a grow room. I may elect to pump the room out to the main drain on the house via a sadle bag. I'll keep ya posted. And thanks for the support.

I had a 2 accounts both at max characters GM I think max was 6 or 7. I had castles and other realestate. Would sell land and vendors and such. Can't remember all the details on that. I was one of the first players who had a guild that was able to PK players in the town TRINSIC for a good 3 months including a bug that allowed us to take out 3 of the guards and we ran a good corner of the town for a long time. We even got praise from EA or origins or what not. I think I sold each account when all was said in done for about 2.5K a piece.

Ok so update today. Things aren't that bad considering everything. My t5 was partially submerged, but like I said I think it's dead. I'll test it out this weekend. My 400 Watt MH is prolly ok, but I'll give that a run this weekend too. I had to pump the room out yesterday. that was a bitch. I forget what I reported on if anything. But 3 of my tanks held water. So my plan on the way I'm doing my custom tanks has no worries. Plan of attack is to pull all the wall coverings off from the bottom half of the room and below. I need to move one electric box up. (the one on the utility wall) It was the only one that was below the hatch entry point. All the wall insulation is getting pulled. I may decide to replace it with the poly spray insulation shit which is really the right call over fiberglass any day, but it's so expensive. I priced it out a long time ago. I'm going to price it out again and consider it more this week.

I got this bad boy ordered and that will be going in. I've decided to go ahead and with my whole plumbing idea with how I really want it including this drain system here. Basically it's going to act as the following. All tanks and water from the room will be dumped to this pump I'll install on the floor. Originally, I was going to route out of the room and to the existing sump pump. I'm also (have been for a while but don't know without truly experimenting) wanting to add a garbage disposal unit on my vanity. My idea is to just obliterate the plant waste instead of bagging it, and pumping it to my compost bin. Not sure what long term effects the plants would have on the unit, and how well a sump pump would pump the shit out. I imagine if disposal units in kitchens handle food and shit in the lines and they get washed out well. I imagine shredded canibus would be fine too.

So all and all not too bad on the wallet. It definitely could have been worse
If it wouldn't have drained out the next day, I think it would have been total loss.
Oh ya the clone box gone. It only had a couple inches in it, and that's all it took.
As I said MDF will do fine in high humidity as long as you have good air flow
you saw the pictured of it 2 hours before the flood it looked fine.
Now it looks all boiled up. It doesn't take long. Standing water is a night mare for MDF but truly all wood sheets.
A lot of this stuff especially hardi board isn't designed to be submerged underwater. The tanks are fine and the framing will be fine as long as it dries out and such. But for safety measures I want to just get the rest of the concrete board off the walls and start fresh with them So I can better assess the concrete walls behind the framing. And also to better allow for the wall cavities to dry out.

Everywhere in town is out of the commercial grade dehumidifiers so this has me a bit ticked off. I may go ahead and buy the dehumidifier I want for the room anyways and get that going already since it's def. needed.

On it's way. I decided on this unit based on a thread on this forum. Going to need one now more than ever.
