Amino Acid Additives

Hi everyone. I noticed a lot of nutrient companies are pushing amino acid additives, but I'm having a hard time finding independent sources that confirm or show the results of adding them.

So far I've heard that plants make amino acids on there own but adding them is supposed to help anyway. There are over 20+ types of amino acids and the "L" type are supposed to be the best or what growers should be adding. The "D" type are supposed to be avoided.

This is of course what the manufacture's claim and they all say there are tons of scientific research that proves the benefits of adding these additives, but I can't find these studies anywhere. Does anyone have more info on them? I tried Google and Wikipedia, but I keep coming up short on good solid info in how they relate to plant growth.

I'm still researching, but so far coming up short. Can't find anything from a reputable source like a university or independent research group that shows the benefits of amino acids or carbs for that matter.

Thanks. I came across that article, but I didn't trust it since Priya Chemicals manufacturers and sells amino acid based products. It's in their interest to promote it.

dont buy into the gimmicks, kinda like "carb loaders" etc...

just use unsulphered molasses = carbs

then for your amino acids... which by the way most are for "animals" and are useless to plants... which im sure you already know... ;)

L-arginine will be the most useful in assisting bud production, but its use is much less negligible as an additive because the plant already produces what it needs when you have good soil as the plant will process this naturally on its own...

only if you have shitty soil or medium for your plant to absorb nutrients will you or should you ever have to use these "additives"...

if using hydroponic... just make sure you have a nutrient supplement with vitamin b complex and that should be plenty good for it... ;)

so just make sure that the flora of your soil is in good shape and that will take care of the rest, as all of these "additives" are just exactly what they are sold for as what i'd call "additives to your bill" ;)

Yea i hear ya. Wasn't too sure on the validity of the info seeing as how it seems they are tooting their own horn regarding their products and whatnot.

I started on H & G amino treatment 2 months ago and I don't see any significant improvements in my plants.
The $80 aluminum bottle it comes in looks really nice though.
