Alternative to water basins and trays

Does anybody have any tips on other types of pvc bins or trays that can be used for hydro? I like supporting my local hydro shop, but 250 bucks for a res and lid is a lot of money. I was looking into some commercial food storage equipment and it looks like they may have some stuff that would work, made either out of pvc or fiberglass, also a quarter of the price. Anyways, if anyone knows of an alternative for hydro bins/trays/res please feel free to share. Thanks

This is kinda what I was talking about. This would be a smaller setup of course, I think its only 2ft x 3ft, but with the lid its only 26 bucks

plastic bins you get at home depot, i believe they are called roughnecks. ive never had one of those bust on me.

I have had a couple roughnecks before, and they are great. Never had a problem with one of those. I was talking about something more like a flood tray used in flood and drain setups. Anything over 50 gallons gets a little pricey. But I was looking around on some commercial restaurant supply companies and you can trays about the same size for a lot less money. The only problem I had was with shipping and the quantity you have to buy. I went ahead and used my local hydro shop today anyways, always looking to support the local shops before the internet. But the prices online are hard to beat sometimes!

look on CRAIGSLIST on the " farm and garden " section. You can get a used tray for a lot cheaper. You can find pumps, trays, tray stands, lights, etc. Clones too.
