Hey Al and Mosberg I've been following this thread for a while and I too am a fan of Al's work and that's what has gotten me well started. I'm at around day 12 and they are looking great. I'm going to have the exact same setup as you and look forward to growin side by side with you lol...

I would veg for about 1 more week. Good work so far!

Say guys, will someone with an experienced eye give our friend Mosberg some advice about his plants. I am kinda out of commission since I am temporarily one-eyed, and Al B Fuct has been away from his computer since 4-8, and doesn't know when he'll get back here, so we could use someone to keep it rolling. :blsmoke:

I'm not an expert, but I have tried to reassure him. He has another thread going with individual pictures of every plant. He sexed the first one right and early, maybe showing for 2 days at most.
Mosberg, look at your mirror, and repeat to the guy you see, "I am doing a good job. I am helping a lot of other people. They see how much fun this can be because I ask so many question, which they all had but were afraid to ask. I AM A GANGA GURU. I AM DOING A FINE JOB".
Add modifications to this speech for the guy in the mirror everyday to make it more personal, look him dead in the eyes. See he is smiling back at you because he knows you are right.
Do this for 21 days. Do not break this cycle for any reason for those 21 days. If you do this the way you are paying attention to all the details of growing, you will add the last one, "I GET A HARVEST EVERY TWO WEEKS".
I hadn't been following this thread, sorry. But I have been getting this setup going in my operation. It has become extremly clear why you have to use a mother for this operation. Do you, Potroast, have any suggestions about how long I should let them WW clones stay in veg before taking that first big round of cuttings. I took them late. The were taken from clones that I had put into flowering, expecting that they would begin to flower in about three weeks like my seedlings had done. Wrong, two weeks, and all the lower branches had flowers on them. I know this means I will have to let them develop longer. Just trying to see what you would advise. Or anyone else that is listening. Well, you don't have to use a mother to supply cuttings, but I think it's easier. Like you've found, it's best to take cuttings from plants that are in vegetative state, or at least before any sign of pistils.

If you do it the way you're trying, you just have to veg the plants longer. I've seen gardens that the 2 stages of flowering were supplied by a 3-stage veg area.

I'm back. Got hit from behind by a cop car on April 7, was in hospital a couple of weeks.

Not gonna be real useful as I can't sit in front of the PC for very long right now, but I can't do much else, either.

mos, looks OK so far. Catch me up- where are we now? You're in a veg lightcycle, right? Did you get a clonebox and a small mother plant vegging zone set up?

If you don't set up a mother plant vegging area, you'll have to take your cuttings from the plants you are intending to flower. WARNING: This is risky as hell for a new grower who doesn't have cloning well practised! If your clones don't set root and you have already switched the donor plants to a flowering lightcycle, you're going to have trouble. If you need more cuttings, you'll have to get them from the flowering plants. Cuttings taken from a plant in flower are renowned for rooting slowly, if at all.

If you have gone to the trouble of establishing a mother plant vegging area, you can get cuttings anytime you want- and from a plant in full veg mode. The cuts should set root quickly and thrive.

A clonebox is an absolute must, whether you use it for seedlings or clones- unless you're going to do one crop and quit.

Remember that seedlings must be grown to sexual maturity AND sexed before they are worth taking cuttings from OR flowering. This takes weeks and weeks! Cuttings take 5-10 days to set root for a well-practised grower. This is why anyone who wants a regular harvest needs to run a clonebox, mother veg area and a flowering area.

I hear what you are saying loud and clear now. The only reason to have the mother plant is to cut out about a month of vegging. Plus of course you know you have females. All of the clones I took of the flowering plants are doing well. Cloning them just befor I put them into flowering will set me all up to follow this routine.
Question: Al or Potroast, have you had widow in this setup? Does it mature in 8 weeks of flowering from a well established clone? vv
