Ak48xLucca brasi 600w rdwc First time Hydro

Sorry I've been out for a bit, but the girls have been growing like freaking crazy. Ph at 5.5, ppm at 400
Just 2 things kind of bothering me:
No smell from the budsites, like at all.
And some of my budsites have hairs with brown tips, about 6 or 7 different spots. And it's mid plant and top, so probably not a light burn. Anyone familiar with this? 20160922_022851.jpg 20160922_022905.jpg 20160922_022745.jpg

They look underfed. Been wondering about that 400, but I run GH, so I wasn't sure. You want as close to Mel Frank's numbers as possible. Main reason I've always run Lucas, it's so close I don't have to mess with anything.

Work up to 'just enough' to sustain full growth. Once you go past 'enough' you start cutting into terpene/oil production and harming the end quality. It's a fine line (usually 1cc's difference).

Just got nutes up to 600, going to get them up to 800 maybe. Still dropping at the 600 range, so they're eating it.
Did some hefty defoliation today, get some more mid canopy light exposure. How's it look for ~4 weeks into flower? 20160925_032958.jpg 20160925_032848.jpg 20160925_032945.jpg

Looking decent for sure. I usually keep it under 750, when the transpiration rates are really high..See how they like 600 and if there's still a bit of light colored new growth, hit 700 and see. ;)

Picked up some of this "moab" today. Npk is 0-52-32 so it's just a heavy dry pk + b vitamin booster. Anyone have any experience with it or anything similar?

I *still* have about 2lbs of Kool Bloom powder, from a 2.2lb package from years ago. Not necessary with a mix close to Mel Frank's publishings, actually degraded quality, even when only used in small amounts. Also a pk booster.

Looks like they're eating it up, ppm dropped from 600 to around 515 with a 6.0 ph. Added in water and nutes and she dropped back to 5.4 ph... The set ph thing works like a charm Douglas, you da man!

Glad you hit the groove, it's a beautiful thing. Gotta love that swing. lol :)

See how simple hydro can be?

Hell yeah man, looks like they're getting bigger slowly but surely now. Ppm dropped to 575 by this morning, ph at 5.6. That's some pretty heavy nutrient uptake, but I'm worried about this curling on my sugar leaves :-(

Your mix has too much nitrogen...

Use a nutrient calculator for your nutes and see what it takes to hit close to these numbers.
n 130
p 106
k 183
Mg 73
S 49
Ca 130

I like to use real epsom salts (mag sulfate) to control mag and boost sulfur

So I'm actually using the older version of the AN connoisseur 2 part (the one with no dog, just cigars) so I'm not sure if any of the info I find about its contents is still relevant to what I actually have. Sorry to be so green(no pun) about the nutrient calc, just not sure I understand what I'm supposed to do. I do know that the breakdown of both parts comes out to about 1-1-2, so the ratio isn't too off I guess?

I'd really like to help more, but I really have no experience with other nutes. I started with GH and it's a simple 8:16, micro:bloom without any grow added. As with anything, some strains need slight adjustments, especially magnesium, the 8:16 is damn close to a 'general' mix for cannabis.

Keep poking around and see what you can find. It'll be worth it. :)

Good call on the nitrogen, replaced some of my Rez and used a lower nitrogen mixture on Saturday and managed to stop the burn at just the very tips of a few leaves. Overall very minor burn incident.
Keeping ppm in the 5-600 range
Ph holds pretty well at the 5.6 mark funny enough

Got a little burn on a few fan leaves Tuesday morning , let the ppm drop to 525 and it has stopped . Ph dropped down to 5.1 somehow, brought it back up to 5.6 with ph up. More pics when I get home

Watch that pH drop. When it goes quick it's usually a sign of root damage, the rot drops the pH. The closer to the correct balance, the more you can feed them without burn.

You're doing great :)
