6 weeks veg. 3 gallon pot filled to within 1.5" of the brim.

The smell gets pretty strong 30 days into flower and on. REALLY, REALLY strong in drying.

HEY!! Your replieing in his thread! Put the joint down. He don't want ?s, he's "better" than that.
Don't be highjackin his thread now...

(by the way, my AK-48s are doing great. 4-5 nodes at 2 weeks from sprout.)
All are welcome here! Besides I appreciate the random bumps as I will have a 2nd smoke report in this thread when my 2nd AK48 is done. (first used molasses as a secondary flower nute/carb load...this one used that freebie sweet grape stuff)

VERY curious as to differences in taste if any.

Fantastic infos my friend. +rep.

I needed this info, my very frist grow is in my sig and explains the need. :P

I am pumped about the trueness of the claims for AK-48's strong high and explosive growth. Very excited indeed.

A buddy of mine grew out some ak48 last year. Out of 10 there were two keepers. one pheno was purple, from flower to jar. And no, it was not exposed to cold weather, day or night. The other was light green, very sugary, smelled excellent, very dank smell. The stone was excellent also. But the taste was mediocre. Overall the conclusion was that it was a O.K strain, but no suitable for his garden. There are better stains out there.

Just a quick happy note:

Just got back from a wedding...I got two groups of people stoned off one rolling machine joint of AK48.

I was pushing group one to finish the joint
but they only made it 1/2 way...so yeah I got two groups stoned with one joint.

The first reactions? "Wow d00d this is DANK weed bro...where'd you get it?"

Me: A friend. :)

I of course wanted to say..."I grew it from seeds"
Funny ass shit. +rep :) :leaf:

I've harvested as early as 53 days with good results, but I usually let it go for 60 to 65 days for best results. I don't flush. I do hydro and stop all nutrients for the last 5 days.

thanks. this is my first time growing. as mentioned im about 7 weeks into flowering. i read the best way to figure out when to start flushing is to look at the trichomes. so i bought a mini microscope to look at them. well its really hard cause when people say lookin for trichomes that are different in color(ie clear vs milky) they all look the same to me. case in point about 5% of the hairs on my ak48's and ices are brown, where is 50% of them are brown on my hashplant, but the trich's look the same to me on both? are there any other indicators of when to start flushing? this is a soil grow btw.

In my opinion, the hairs have nothing to do with it. Its all in the trichs. I usually harvest at 50% clear/cloudy. I once let it go 80 something days, 20% amber figuring it would be stronger, but my "friends" were unhappy with it. They want that trippy, giddy high and that comes at 50% clear/cloudy which is usually around 63 days.

yeah i like the giddy highs also and hate couchlock. well anyway i had one last question. so someone on another forum post this pick which was helpful:

http://forum.grasscity.com/photopost/data/500/Trichome_chart1.jpg

i guess im going to a milky cloudy trich. do i need to start flushing once i see the trich's go milky, or do i need to 'predict' when the trichs are about to go milky based on flowering time? meaning lets say at 6 weeks its still clear, and i flush for 2 more weeks. by week 8 it gets milky. hope that makes sense.

FYI I've done another batch of AK48 since this original report...had two girls in a closet under a 250 mh/hps with cfl side lighting.

Got 4.25 oz from the pair. I still love the strain...but I'm also kinda glad the seeds are now gone. She is one stiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnkkkkkkyyyy
beeatch! Seriously...the smell is out of control. But so is the high... I NEVER regret once it's cured. But up until the day that it can stay in jars
long term? Whew-y. Just keep complaining about a family of skunks in your neighborhood or sumin'.

how was the odor level? i read at least one description of 47 that said "serious odor control needed". it never really interested me because of that 7 reports of it being stoney, but i never heard of it being trippy too until now.

SERIOUS odor control is needed. I used 2 tubs of natural magic, boiling water and cinnamon sticks on the stove, incense, 2 or 3 bottles of some other supposed odor eliminator spray...none of it was 100% successful.

And there was only two plants! I think you need a carbon filter/fan dealie no matter how small a grow you do with this strain.
