How do you guys store your beans? How soon after receiving them to you pop them?
I think I waited 2 or 3 days. I kept them in the fridge before moving them to the grow room over night to get to room temp before putting them in rockwool for the first batch. The next batch was a few days later.

I keep them refrigerated, sealed, in the dark, until I'm ready to use them.

I also popped seeds I had in the fridge for over 2 months. The only seeds with 100% germ rate were the cgpr x osk. Everything else had at least one seed that didn't pop. I'd say excluding tknl5 I had 9/12 seeds pop, but 0/7 tknl5 seeds popped thus far.

Edit: I should also mention I had one Crack in the paper towel, but it never sprouted. The other seedlings (blueberry f5) had almost too much tail to be put in rockwool gracefully, this one tknl5 was just cracked open with a dark Grey tap root stuck in the crack.

He never suggested that to me when I purchased direct from him.
And I had the same issue with duds and immature looking seeds.
the pack had a few extra but what good are they if they don’t germ.
I purchased directly from him as well. I had a problem with Matty Cakes. He suggested that method with the remaining seeds. If his method didnt work then he was going to replace the pack(But it did). Its not a big deal to him to replace seeds. It may take him a day or two to respond but he will respond and He has the absolute best customer service imho.

the matty cakes made really interesting unique plants, i only got 1 female from the 5 seeds i germinated, but akbb and i chatted and he mentioned similar phenos being pretty common... incredible trichome coverage, fan leaves, petioles, everything... and a really nice uplifting effect
I gave away my matty cakes after getting them started. I needed room at the time bc i was moving. I kept a consumption and bred it with some pollen from Bodhi's Blueberry hashplant. I need to get to those seeds. Im sure theres something very interesting in them. I do want a pure MTF eventually though

Just chopped vbb and Chocalope today.
Getting rid of a cold so the sniffer is out of commission still.

I have 5 chocolope females all have a bit different nose. I’m thinking #3 or 6, 3 has lots of cantaloupe fruit smells.
I read the fruit oxidizes to chocolate with some aging. Have to see how these cure out. First time growing it.
Thes we’re grown in 1/2gallon pots topped for 2 main tops and a few sides for pollen/seed.

Shout out to AKBB for being a swell guy.

I contacted him with my problems and asked for the seed lists. He gave some advice, the lists, and offered a pack of tknl5 haze to rplace my last batch. I turned down the free pack and thanked him for what he does for the community.

I ordered 2x consumption and a pack of tk-tknl5 haze x chocolate that.

Here's what I got today. I'm grateful and I will be an AKBB customer for as long as he's doing buissiness.

Nothing we all havent heard before. Basically float them in 3% h2o2 and then use a damp paper towel (wet with h2o2) to get the seed started before sprouting. If that's what he does to get older seeds to pop, then thats what I'm going to do.

I tested it on a few spare seeds. Had a very high germ rate but I'm going to have to find a better way to get them in rockwool starters, as I'm possitive I damaged a couple tap roots transplanting them, and they sprouted at the very top of the hole instead of growing up and out. They look very silly, but I digress...

Instead of putting them in a paper towel. You can put them straight into your soil after a good soak in H2O2. So you dont have to worry about messing up your tap root. I found to have the same high germ rate. Ive only had 1 seed not pop since switching to his method. My only difference is I put them straight into soil after soak

My problem is I am strictly hydro for the time being.

Good news is he gave me enough seeds that by the time I'm in soil, I'll still have plenty left, and if I don't, I'll shoot him an email

He just meant to plant directly into the rockwool/grodan etc. after the soak and skip the paper towel part.

I'm not trying to be that guy, but it doesnt seem like that was what he was saying at all. There are terms for that, mainly "medium"

If theres one thing Ive learned growing weed in rockwool, its that what works for soil and what works in rockwool are very seldom the same, so when I am told something works for soil, I presume its not going to work the same with rockwool.

Fuck it, Ill give it a shot for the sake of science.

Some advice with rockwool cubes after the paper towel.. don't slide the root into the hole. Instead, soak the cube in water then split it in half. Place the root into the cube and close it like a root sandwich with the seed head poking out. It will give the plant support and full contact with the medium.
