Air Cooling and Filtering In-One?

Hey guys, I'm having trouble fitting things together into my new grow cab, well, on paper at least. My question is this:

If I use a powerful 6" Centrifugal fan and a SuperSun 2 reflector (pretty damn air tight, neoprene seals etc), could i make the light's aircooling and the cabs air filtration/exhaust system one in the same? It would go from the filter, to the light then to the exhaust via the same tube.

The filter's max is rated a few CFM below what the fan provides, so I thought it might be a good way of saving space and using only one 6" fan, not two 4" fans. Plus it MORE than doubles my airflow through the cabinet, even with the filter.

Would that work? I'm just trying to cram in 400w instead of 250w AND supplamental lighting, while cutting costs.

its the same set up as I'm gonna be using except i'm using a 5" cool tube with a 400w hps I've seen plenty of others have this same set up you should be fine

How many bends, twists and turns are you going to have to accomplish this? And where are you going to exhaust it? You would be better off to stop at one of the big box stores and get an inline Duct Booster fan for air cooling the light, they are under $30.00, pick up a dryer vent kit while your there, around $15.00. It will work more efficiently seperated. If you must make a connection make it outside the cabinet at the point of your exit line using a "Y" connector and two reducers (4" to 6"). Using our old piersquarerule, we find the 2-4" lines have an area of 8pi nad the single 6" line has an area of 9pi. The increase in size will midigate some of the restrictions, it will be more efficient. As a side note, Al B Fuct ran test on the inflow and out flow temps for a 1000watt light. The difference was insignificant because of the 'free' air flow, I think you could just dump that air into the room out side of the closet without a problem. Haven't tried it, I might experiment with dumping it in to my room in the winter, I have to heat the room?? VV
