"Old school smoke" almost _never_ hermed, it wasn't chemically feminized, or feminized at all for that matter.
Ask Mr. McCormick if he's done anything whatsoever to stabilize the "strains" he received from the Boomer legends and how stable is the phenotypical expression of each of his "strains" . It _should_ be something like this, but it _won't_ be:

Then ask him how many plants he did on his first F1 grow for each of his "strains" and how uniform were the plants. You might also want to inquire about his grow enviroment.... Indoor versus outdoor, organic versus chemical fertilizers, soil vs. hydroponic, etc. to see if it matches your environment. _I_ might also inquire why his _old school_ Skunk direct from Watson/Skunkman has no smell?
I would disagree that he's a "preservationist. Almost everything he's selling was developed by somebody else, he's just marketing seeds using their names. Preservationists don't spend thousands and thousands of dollars on two page full color ads in Grow magazines just to sell their seeds.
