I've got 4 65w cfls 2700K that put out 4000 lumens a piece. I also have a UV bulb, but I think I'm gonna get another one, that way I'll have better distribution over all the plants. I'm also gonna use a couple 23w 6500K bulbs with it, just to widen the spectrum.
Sounds solid to me man, IDK about the UV light though, sounds like un-necessary heat to me.

Yeah everything positive I've read about using UV's has been a little unconvincing. Rest of your lights sound very nice, though.

I'm stoked to watch 'em flower. Lets see some girls up in that shit!

Alright, so here's some pics from today. This will be the last official day of veg. I will be putting them on 24 hours darkness (technically 30 so I can set up the light on times to work with my schedule).

UVA and UVB is required for all living things to grow. The amount of UV rays that regular CFLs and HIDs put out is next to nothing compared to the sun.

Marijuana plants, as you all know, have trichomes. The trichomes channel UV rays to the lower portion of themselves, which is where THC production is found. Trichomes magnify the UV rays, using them for energy, which in turn, causes more THC production.

Although UV rays help with growth, they can also be a bad thing. For example, over-exposure. Just like we get sunburns, plants can be harmed also. This means you must regulate the amount of UV rays that the plants receive. This is the reason why some plants are more often found growing in shaded areas because they cannot handle the amount of UV rays being put out all day long. Also, this is cause for certain plants only growing in certain regions.

Marijuana plants are lovers of UV rays. If you look at a graph of UV exposure around the world, you can see that some of the strongest marijuana strains come from areas that are high in UV exposure. For example, Afghanistan.

Thus being the reason I have the UV bulbs in my grow room. Now, how much of a difference there will be with having the bulbs versus not having the bulbs, I do not know yet. There will be experiments in the future, lol.

And thanks for the comments guys.

I need your help! I recently purchased one of those aero gardeners but I have the smaller version. I planted about 6 white widow seeds only 2 sprouted up. Then about 2 weeks later I started to see root rot. I don't know what I'm doing wrong! Can you please break everything down for me like how much water to use to what type of lights and etc. Thanks

Yeah man, for sure. If someone's in trouble with their plants, you gotta help em out. Then you teach them the right way to do things. Plants staying alive is priority.
all respect. i answered his questions on my thread first. best i could. i also just got into with my lady right before that, and it was late. i could have been more patient. i hear you gypsy, we all had a shitload questions once, and still do.

Well everybody is here to help everybody else, don't think theres any question about that. Wanting a complete overview on growing with the AG in the middle of someone else's grow journal is a bit outa' left field though...
