thanks for the link BudDub but that thread is way too long for me to read. 500 pages lol
No need to read all 500 pages. Just read the first part where he describes his setup and how to build in detail. You'll know wether or not you want to keep reading after the first post.

BudDub, thanks for the info. i just checked out post 22 but im still confused about one thing. what is the name of the parts that are being used as the grow chambers? the rectangle cubes that you drill the holes into where the neoprenes fit into

i got a question for you guys. im gonna be buying 2 aeroflo 36's but i want to use one big res instead of 2 small ones but i like the draining valve on the bottom. does anyone know a 70-80 gal res that has that draining valve on the bottom?

Just keep reading my friend. I think he says its pvc fence posts, but I would need to read again to be sure

these arent hard to build.
you can make one with a rubbermaid tote, hole saw, pump, and some tubing.
save a lot of money, if you're into that kind of thing,.

4tatude, did you cut a hole in the bottom of your res to attach a hose and make it easier to drain? i was thinking about doing that to my res cause its such a hastle to drain it but i dont know the correct way. unless you or someone can point me in the direction to a 70-80 gallon res with a drain hole built in

guys i just realized i ran into a big problem with using 2 aeroflo 36 systems with 1 res. anyone familiar with the system knows that for each of the 6 chambers theres a drain beneath that into the res. that means if i used 1 big res it would have to be almost 8 feet long to catch the water draining from the chambers. does anyone see a way around this? id like to use my 70 gal res with these and the diam is 31" x 54.5" x 12". how can i get the water to drain in the res without it being directly beneath the chambers?

ok so to install a drain you need a regular5/8 or 3/4" drain for a res easily picked p at any hydro store n a whole saw for a drill to fit. ask the hydro guy what size. then drill n install. on bottom is best but requires res to be elevated, side mount is ok but you need to flush with hose or vac out whats left in bottom.
