AeroGarden Guide/FAQ v 2.0

Hi Im doing my first Indoor grow! I have a aerogarden pro 200! Right now i have 3 42 watt Spiral CFLS. I was wondering i any other lights besides the Aerogarden lights would fit in the base and what i should look for if so, If not are there any reatailers in the Florida area!

I'm doing my first indoor aerogarden grow as well, but I know on the AG site you can buy adaptors straight from them for other light fixtures. I have the Aerogarden Extra which has the 3 light setup and I've got a 125W CFL gull wing reflector on the way with both 6500K and 2700K spectrums. My plants look like the are dying for light, hopefully this makes them happy :)

I like your cat btw :)

hey there, what does it mean when its a 'sticky'? I'm pretty new to this forum thing :S thanks! =)
The 'Sticky' factor on this site... it just keeps the thread at the top of the page so everyone looking in the AeroGarden section will be able to refer to this thread first because it has all the best and most useful info. It's just something the mods do when they find really useful threads that everyone should get acquainted with before asking questions that have already been answered fifty times on different threads.

HI -- I am completely new to this but excited to get started. I would really appreciate some advice on the best AG to buy. Also, any step by step guide to adapt it with addtl lighting, etc.? Thanks,

I would check out lurkmaster's DIY aerogarden setup.

here's the link for it: https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/203648-diy-aeroponics-kit-under-40-a.html

I wish I would have seen that before I invested in the AeroGarden, but if you are interested in an aerogarden, the Extra is a good one to go with. It has the extendable arm (up to 3 feet), three bulbs instead of two, and an easily modifiable light timer. You can go awhile without any extra light, like just to the point of flowering, but then I would recommend getting some additional side lighting.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003JJLZL2/ref=s9_simh_gw_p60_d7_i4?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0642CGAB2FAQD2JMEGJD&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846

Something like that would work good, just kind of hang it however you see fit. You could even go with multiple spiral CFL's around the sides of your plants. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Happy Gardening

Thanks - I did get the Extra and got it up and running. Germinated the seeds in a towel and put them into the pods a few days ago. Only have 2 pods though. I think I ordered the wrong plant package - got the tomato one. It has the nutrient packets not tabs - do you think the packets are ok to use? Thanks for the link to the light on Amazon - I think I will add that but only need to for flowering, right? Do you know if I have to do anything to the leaves to make more branches? Right now, they are about an inch high with 4 leaves. Thanks so much for your help -- I really appreciate it.

I use 2 pro 200's as cloners. I use plain water, no nutes and a 4" bubbler. I add 1/4 strength nutes after roots touch water(not just tap root). The 3 lights that come with the unit are plenty for clones, never grew a plant past 2 weeks veg after rooting in an AG.

Mine are always set on tomatoes/peppers

Hope you are still here:) I'm germinating in the pods too....I have my lights on 20/4...still waiting for something to happen. How long did your good ones take to 'pop' and did you push them down just a little bit, out of the light? I hope so 'cause that's what I did!

Hello everyone I'm new to this so bear with me. Got an Aeroflo 30 dimmable dual spectrum 1000 watt light on a light rail and 30 power diesel clones in my homemade clone box. My question is its been almost 5 days and no roots yet. I'm using gh rapid start at 25 ml in about 16 gallons of water. Ph is between 6 and 7 room and water temp is about 80 should I have seen roots yet or is it early? Mother plant is outdoors. Does that matter? Also I'm running light at at 500 watt s and switched cycle so light is off from 9 to 3. Got an 4" inline fan pulling heat out of light and exhausting outside. Any info would be appreciated thanks

OK so its now day 6 and I'm seeing little white bumps on my clones . R these the start of roots? Water was look-in cloudy and was also getting warm 85 deg so I added some water straight from the tap after reading bunch of peoples comments bout how chlorine was good for the rez. Cooled it Back to 80 anyway. Wat should my ec and ppm be I'm using
Gh rapid start?

Hi everyone, I'm new here & first time grow coming up. Was wondering if anyone has used HPS lights for their AG instead of CFL and what their experience was.

I'v been using a cheap (under $70) aero cloner from.

I use non PH'ed Tap water,
( I also, at times, add 2ml KLN & pro Tect, but plain water works just as well )
Strong mother plant
clean tools & work area

I take cuts, place in pucks, plug in cloner,
come back in 10 - 14 days, done.

my temps stay @ 76f
under T-5's 18/6

here are a few pix from last month....
