you need the 42w lights to get above the 50w/sq ft thresh hold
with 8 42w, you should do pretty fine

mixing spectrum bulbs is apparently pretty helpful im still in veg and was originally using all 6500 bulbs and iv read alot of stuff from people saying it helps. so im trying it now and iv seen some of my best growth since i got those bulbs...and when it comes to higher wattage bulbs or lower wattage bulbs...apparently if u have the same wattage in lower bulbs as 1 higher wattage...the lower bunch will have slightly more lumens i went with this idea because of that..and that fact that i can place them in different areas around the plant...because if i have 1 high watt bulb on top there is areas of the plant that light will not get to because of it positioning...so if i had the same wattage in lower watt bulbs i would think i could cover more area on the plant. i may b wrong on how much it makes a difference. but either way u just wanna make sure u have enough lumens to cover the area..

Thanks for your input, so here is what i have decided,
for veg i will go 1 x 250 blue cfl, 1 x 250 red clf (lower down covering foilage)
and 6-8 42 watt blues

For flowering will go 1 x 250 2700 cfl and 8 x 42 watt 2700 cfl.

i going to start with clones, with cuttings that i take off the feminised super skunk and white diesel i have growing outdoors now.

what you will want is light spread instead of having 1 area of concentrated light. you should get a high output t5 fixture for that space. my plants are thriving with just 1. i have the GrowBright 2 Foot 4 Lamp High Output T5. for you i would recommend a 6 lamp one to optimize the space. very cost effective and very low wattage consumption
