hey hettyman, first of all your plants looks very healthy from the picture i can tell...about the low yield of buds...im not that pro...but i only think that they dont get decent of the light, bloom nutes or bad genetic ? it will help ya out more if you can give us more details of your grow, what kind of soil, what kind of strain, outdoor or indoor, nutrients, and lights etc. hey next corp you will have a fat buds no question :) but thanks for sharing with us of your pictures, +REP for ya. happy growing and peace

I'm actually quite happy with the buds considering it's my first grow (and yes, I know, i've still got a lot to learn), and have been restricted to a single 125w CFL for the entire flowering period. I have just built a new flower cupboard which will have almost twice the lumens!

Thanks for offering your advice on growing, but what I was really after right now was advice on getting better pictures of the glistening buds and leaves :)

you want to use the macro setting obviously, super fine detail and a shitload of light. not knowing much about your digi, half press the shutter button and the camera goes into lock focus mode when you find the spot you like press it fully. If your using a cheapo digi you pretty much have no luck but even a $100 olympus can take pretty kick ass bud pictures. another tip is to have flash on, but cover it with your finger completely when you take the pic.

if youre using a point and shoot, change to the macro setting. if youre using a DSLR, just zoom on it (use the portrait setting, its my fav) and if youre using a cell phone camera you should go die >.< <3

Looking good bro keep it up!!! Looks like your phone camera is havng trouble geting focus on buds giving the blury depth of field, try and record a video of the buds and then edit video by cutting out stills of bud that are in focus. Keep up the good work.

A friend of mine taught me a few tricks for good pictures of things that don't move (my ladies, flowers, my cat, etc.) I don't know technical words, but they've helped me a lot.

Since you have only one light, try to stand beside it when you take your pictures so that it doesn't get into the frame and make your camera have to decide what to focus on.

I see you sometimes get jittery pictures (me too.) Tie a string around your camera, and make sure it's long enough to stretch under your foot. Stand on the string and pull slightly against it when you take a pic - this will keep your camera much more steady and get rid of the wobbles.

Explore how many settings your camera has. Even my old camera phone had some modes that took better photos than others.

Take a giant step back - I know you want to show us details, but we can't see anything if the pic is blurry. About a yard/meter from your plant will probably give you much sharper shots, since most less expensive cameras are made to have a focus point about that far away.

Hope that helps! Your girls look great!

most new phones have gps = location phone always keeps time and date stamps. when you send and recieve it logs it. if the picture originates from phone it can be verified if you got it from a camera it could be somone elses pic. i am not saying they are doing it but i would rather be safe than sorry. thats all im sayin

Thanks for all your advice, looks like i'll have to dig my digital camera out... my phone has 5 mega pix, while my camera only 3.2, but by the sounds of it the extra options on my camera will get the best pics. Thanks again i'll try some things and see what I come up with. :)

I know it's a slim chance, but i checked the info stored on my images, and there is nothing to link to my phone.

there not 2-3 weeks to harvest . more lke 4-5 weeks
Thanks for the advice, my plants are described as finishing in 7-8 weeks, which would be 2-3 weeks. I've read that leaving plants an extra couple fo weeks drastically helps taste and yields, but I'm worried my flower room is drawing too much attention, and want to bring it down as soon as possible. (I have just finished another flower room for my next grow).

I'd move your plants to the new flower room if you're in a hurry to take down the one you're using now.

The best piece of advice I ever got was, "stop reading how many weeks your plants take to flower. Your plants decide when they are done, not the calendar."

Hahaha, please do give up. Seriously??? Have you got nothing better to do then go about making snidey comments about other ppl's comments. Leave your computer and go and get laid.

It's my first grow, done on a budget, and considering I have 4 plants that are far too large for a single 125w CFL, the fact that i'll easily be getting on OZ per plant, and all the budds are glistening with trichs and smelling lovely, is something that I am proud of. Maybe with time and more equipment i'll be getting 2-3 oz per plant and huge cola's, but right now I'm pleased with what i've managed.
