Advanced Nutrients Calculator sucks...

AN is a good product. But running 3-4 tables at a time all in different stages was driving me nuts. Do to the mix ratios being so different. Seemed like I was buying 2 weeks of nutes every week.

ok so mixing sucks but about the cost. im thinking i use about 1/2 or less of the 2 part 1 liter bottles per grow which is two plants. probably only a quarter of the 2 part grow veg bottles. so basically the 1 liter bloom formula lasts me for 4-6 plants (almost a year) and costs 30$, and the veg bottles last twice as long as that and also cost 30$. roughly 8$ per plant for a complete grow cycle. thats pretty cheap. i understand most people run more plants then me but still, its probably cheaper if you get the gallon bottles too.

no im doing dwc. and just the two part works fine for me. i dont change out my res every week anymore, only like every month. and i veg in a two gallon bucket that hardly uses any nutes.

Mid veg 600-800
Late veg 1000

I change mine every 2 weeks now. Wish I knew then what I know now. I might of had a better experience with other lines of nutes. Always learning something new helps make a better grower. Maybe someday I'll setup another room and try AN agin but what I have now works. If it ain't broke don't fix it lol

lol at fatman. youre in the wrong place.

i use the sensi 2 part also, with nirvana flower booster. it works great. I follow the schedule pretty well, which is super easy cause its not much of a schedule at all, but tells you to use the same amount for every week. Anyways, 10 ml per gallon of each part per gallon is perfect, and super easy to measure. 1/2 str first week. last time i bumped it up to like 15-1600 and ended up with a little tip burn. keepin it around 1200 this time like the schedule says.
Funny how he said that over 2 years ago. Zed revived a dead thread.

Hay we get on people for not using the search button. So sometimes old threads come up. And we don't always look at the op date. And just go with what was asked in the last post.

AN base nutes and GH additives. look at the labels of the additives, they are exactly the same... example AN rhino skin = potassium silicate
dutch master silica gold is a third of the cost and twice as strong.
Typical Label-Lawyer.

You can't compare labels and actually believe they're telling the whole story. The legal BS surrounding labels are completely restricting anything even close to accuracy.

What you can say about two different products that have identical ingredients on their labels is simply this: "Of the ingredients RECOGNIZED BY GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRATS AS BENEFICIAL TO PLANTS in these two products, there is little to no difference between the two products. However, nothing is known of the possible ingredients NOT RECOGNIZED as beneficial to plants."

Lots of things are good for plants, and many of them haven't had exhaustive studies performed and submitted to all the various state labeling institutions. If you don't have your study conducted, peer-reviewed, etc, etc, etc to the satisfaction of each state's labeling board (or whatever they're called) they won't let you put that particular ingredient on your bottle because their opinion is that if you haven't PROVEN it's good for plants you can't advertise it at all.

So you can have two different things that have identical amounts of A, B, and C on the label but one of them also has D, E, and F that isn't on the label because the bureaucrats have their fingers in their ears and are chanting "na-na-na-na-na-na-I-can't-hear-you" and won't let them put it on the label. It's in there, and it makes a big improvement, but you're not allowed to know about it because they don't think you have a right to know about it without a whole bunch of scientific studies first.

And that's not even getting into things like the difference between fertilizer salts. There's got to be a couple dozen different ways to get nitrogen into solution and they're not all equal. But all of them can produce the same % of nitrogen in solution. Is it bioavailable? Is it chelated? Is it going to stay in solution or is it going to precipitate out the first chance it gets? Chances are that's NOT on the label.

Hell, simply the order you add the ingredients to make a nutrient can make a huge difference on it's efficacy.

Don't be a label-lawyer.

The amount of information NOT on the label is so vast that it makes what information IS on the label virtually worthless.

OK, so I'm trying to figure out a good feeding schedule for my upcoming Hydro grow and as the title states the calculator on AN's website sucks and doesn't even have monkey juice as an option. I am going to use Advanced Nutrients considering my budget is large enough to account for the higher cost and quality is my #1 goal. I am hoping I can just list my base ferts and enhancers and someone with experience can help me decide on a 3 week veg feeding schedule as well as an 8 week feeding schedule for flowering.

AN Ferts include:

Monkey Juice Bloom "A&B" (for veg and bloom)
Nirvana
Overdrive
Bud Candy
Voodoo Juice
Rhino Skin
Final Phase

The Grow system will be a 24" x 44" ebb & flow table w/ 40 gallon reservoir flooding 2 times daily(+ or -). 15 plants in 8" smart pots filled with coco coir. Environment will be a Growlab 80L, 600 watt Quantum digi with Hortilux, 6" cooltube, 6" active air fan, 6" filter. lots more details but I'll save them for the grow journal.

Oh, I am looking for a medium to slightly heavy feeding schedule. I used an ebb & flow system years ago with lots of success, I just don't have the knowledge of AN and won't go back to 100% organic until I have my own house, I just can't stand the mess in the apt. I am trying to keep my fert cost to under $300, however if anyone has any ideas on my chioces of ferts please feel free to let me know whats up, although I think I picked a damn fine selection .

OH and I also plan on using Jumpstart for clones, should I use it along with something else or just keep it simple with the Jumpstart?
First off do you know what all those product do? The biggest problem is I see people using AN stuff because a buddy said so or they read an article or some other nonsense. I would go to their 3 part system with sensizym for the last 5 weekd of flower and voodoo juice for the first 2 weeks of flower. Thats it.

My schedule is simple and has come from their web site.

Veg. 2ml. per litre of micro, grow, .50ml per litre of bloom. You can start the sensi now if your in pots.
Flower 1, 2 weeks 2ml/litre grow micro bloom, sensi. If they are aggressive you may need calmax at this point
Flower 3,4 weeks 2.25ml/litre grow micro bloom sensi. This is where you can start steroids if you want.
Flower 5,6,7 weeks 2.ml/Litre grow micro bloom sensi. I drop the sensi and grow in the 7th week.
Flower 8,9 weeks, 1.75ml/litre micro, bloom. 7-10 days before harvest I flush with straight ph balanced water.

This produced medical grade product and every strain I have tried has enjoyed this schedule. I do not leech of flush during the cycle because its built into my schedule. nute, nute water nute nute water

Hope this helps.
