add NUTES after or b4 i ph

okay do i adjust my ph after or b4 i add the nutes ?

i have heard that if i add the nutes then ph the water the plants actually eat the nutes and then the ph would rise upto where it was b4 the nutes were in .. make sense ?

or do i add the nutes which lowers my ph and then add some more ph down to get it to 5.5 ?

thats what i have been doing and my ph keeps rising ! i soaked my rockwool in 5.0 water im growing in a dwc thats 8 gallons but i only have 3 gallons of water in it ... i use organic nutes there on 1/4 dosage and my plants are 3 weeks old "4 of them" i dont have a ppm meter because i got told i didnt need 1 if i empty the res every week , any help would be apreciated

what is the ph of the water before nutes?

it shouldnt matter the nutrients will say on the bottle what their target ph is.
so get it to that and then dump them in.
but you cant go wrong either way

well it would be just tap water around 7.0

I have been having my own little rollercoaster with ph, my water sucks. I have talked to 2 guys growing hydro and 1 store owner that grows and everyone says the same thing. ph your res last after you add anything.And you should have a ppm meter because you never know what is in your tapwater, mine is 350 by itself.and if your having a problem with ph always being high like me bring it down a little past your target. (i set mine at 5.2 and it usually rises to 5.6-5. good luck.

i had the same problem at first . things were happening :
1 . i had light getting into my res via the rockwool. the top was exposed to the light. I had some algae build up. Fix i covered the top of net pot with a Styrofoam plate
2. i had a small pump pumping. The filter was dirty . i cleaned the filter. later when the roots hit deep water i took the pump out.
3.i started using H2o2 or hydrogen peroxide 10 ml to a gal when i change my res. also after i add 2 gals back i add 10 ml to just 1 gal then just then i repeat the process .
also at what stage are you at in your grow ? iph my water after i add my nutes

im 4 weeks in , i do have alittle bit of light getting in around the edges of the pots "because i cut the holes lol" but there is that much movement going on with the pumps, and i couldnt see any algae....can light on its own raise ph lol ? maybe it has something to do with my organic fertilizer , ima swich to a normal nutrient mix and see what happens ... other then that is must by my ppm tap water thanks guys

o and i dont have the cash to guy buy a digital ppm meter can i just use the pool ph strips ?"the ones with ppm on it"?
