? about fem'd seeds and strain

Do fem'd seed plants tend to show sex later than others? Don't know if any of y'all have had any experience with Crystal Rain, but does anybody know how long it might take to show sex after beginning 12/12 for this strain? Being that they're fem'd seed plants and have had no stress I'm really just looking for pistils (fingers crossed). Been on 12/12 for three days now and no sign of shit other than they are about to outgrow my facilities. The plants are 32 days old are are getting huge and very bushy. Are they still too young to show sex after only a few days on 12/12? Thanks

Not a matter of age from planting, just that three days 12/12 is not enough time. Besides, if they're 'fem'd' seeds, why worry? They're all females.

Well the little bitches are growing about an inch a friggin day now (about 4 inches growth, height wise since turning to 12/12 and putting the HPS light on 'em four days ago), so I guess they're putting their energy into getting bigger by the moment, lol. Any way y'all know of to hasten the flowering process? Or even trying to keep them smaller? Done topped 'em and they are bushy as hell.

yeah 3 days isnt enough...give it at least a week or two...maybe more depending on the strain.and when a plant starts flowering...it can go through a big stretch the first 2 weeks of flowering.a plant will almost triple in size during flowering.if your limited by space you might need to force them into flowering early to keep them from out growing your space

That's one of my questions. I already have them in flower (12/12). If I switch lighting to say 10 on 14 off, will they flower and mature quicker? Not sure what you mean by "force flowering". Thanks for the help everyone.

i wouldnt put them in less then 12 hours of light..then need the light as just as much as the dark to flower.and some people to get their plants to sex faster will put them in darkness for 36 hours before going to 12/12..that can force the plant to start its flowering cycle as it thinks its getting later in the season and needs to flower before winter.

If your plants are getting too tall for your grow area, just bend them over and tie them down. Also, you will slow growth some by keeping your lights at the optimum distance from the plants. If the light's too far away, then the plants tend to stretch toward the light. I wouldn't worry too much about a male showing up, but keep an eye on the limbs in case on of them goes hermie on you.

Thanks for the input. Makes good sense. I do bend them down and somewhat stress the lower leaves. If I see ary a ball on one, even a hermie it's outta here.

Amazes me that people will even buy hermie weed. I don't sell or buy weed period, but I damned sure ain't even gonna smoke no damned herms. Smoke rarely even, but when I do, I ain't drinking no wine that comes outta a box! LOL> Should make special Christmas presents though.......................
