A common topic among my friends and I. Thanks for the interesting read guys. It doesnt take take any scientific education to realize our government is holding us back intentionally. How would the sheep be herded without any shepherds?
It also doesn't take scientific education to ask this question: how does one test the premise? While I acknowledge that there is strong peer pressure to be the one to blurt "I don't get it", my own sense of honor require that I disclose ... I don't get it. How do I determine the presence, then the shape of a sinister agenda? I can think of few more destructive pursuits than to take definite action against an indefinite opponent. cn

I wonder how Texaco is doing with that Battery Technology they purchased from GM 10years ago..
I'm sure they are trying to make it cheaper then oil.

Does that mean that no one should be convicted of premeditated murder?

Abortion is wrong, here buy some boner pills.
Birth Control is wrong, here buy some boner pills.
Resource Depletion is wrong, here buy some boner pills.
Gay marriage is wrong, here buy some boner pills.

I'm reminded of the idea that one man's nightmare is another man's dream of a lifetime. I might worry my land won't produce and my cow is dry. But, I have land and a cow. I have to protect that from those that have not.

And I marry that to the idea of any advance tech seems like magic.

So, we need to protect the magic of our society. It is an advance political technology. It is unique and so, target able. It was so, when it was created and it is vastly more complex now. We are not trained to understand multi-generation Real World Politics. We elect and employee experts. It's easy to be superstitious.

And I can't say that this US Tech Robot killer Govt, is actually controlled. It's guided, Constitutionally, by We, the People. But the principles are in place. It is supposed to be self serving at individual level to reduce the blood and vendetta. The rule of Law. Not the rule of Despot. And it really doesn't matter what we think or feel. Here's why.

One man's sinister agenda is another's life work for all mankind. Both are correct. It is advanced and seems like magic to me. I don't understand it, but it works.

We are the loyal opponents to our own gov't. Our gov't is us. That is the way forward. It's been like that since the beginning. If our gov't, for example, is in contact with star survey crews on the Dark Side of the moon. I'm glad. I don't want to know. That is their job to keep us safe from ourselves, also. We have proved time and again....We can't handle the truth. That's why we have gov't.

bacterial colonies population rise and fall much like ours has ( and will ) due to resource depletion and toxic environment create by its own waste.

we are trying to push thru the physical boundaries of our petri dish with technology

i have a fear the further we remove from mother earth and understanding there are physical limits in what we should "enjoy" and not think every person is worthy of limitless energy, or that people are worthy of abusing other people for their labor, we would be safer from huge fluctuations.

birth control, abortion, voluntary sterilization, suicide.....they are natural attempts to equalize the overpopulation pressure because people know its a toxic and unsustainable environment we live in.

some people are extremely wasteful and live on the earth for the one goal of destruction or trying to burn as much gas and buy as much plastic as possible.

or basically using as many goods as possible. is this how everybody should live because i also fear there would be tons more of these kinds of people if everyone had limitless energy.

and no matter what, a solar panel, turbine, reactor, etc cannot grow food, make water, or build low-energy sustainable living systems. They can help, but still need dedicated people in tune with earth.

This seems right, except bacteria are not governed or altruistic. I have to point out, that the Rule of Law says, you can't always get what you want. But, you can get what you need, if you try sometimes.

Your "destruction of the earth", however, is my "progress for mankind". Our Big self-rule Magic takes all the view points and only requires a willingness to accept the outcome without much bloodletting. Of course, there are laws about that, also. :)

The ROW has to do it's own bloodletting as it comes to understand some level of the Magic. We must referee, for our own safety. And I don't think the magic is for everyone to understand. Not at this stage of political evolution.

My point is, there was nearly the end for the US, but we won, WW2. The dirty little secret, is we almost lost it, several times, before we were even in it. And after that it was so bad, I can point to several pivot moments outside of the real danger. Hitler was going to Nuke us.

So, today, as it stands, no one, in his right mind would set up a govt, like the US. And we won't allow it, IAC. Parliaments is all, with or without a Constitution. None for England or Australia, for example. We elect a govt of us, for us, by us. Is it really a wonder it seems like Magic?

I believe that for the future, we will be given a hard choice: low energy ... or sustainable? I see no sustain without reliable, large quantities of energy available. cn

But, there is a breath taking abundance of clean fuel, right there on the Moon, yes ? So, right now, I'll say, we are being given the false choice. Low energy, earth mother. Everyone suffers the same. No end to the petty rules of sharing the pain to sustain.

But, brother p-bear, have you seen the Pigs? They just put in Air Conditioning. They are more equal. They need to think for our benefit. (what f**king benefit???) They will never be spreading the suffering that far. Some will not be suffering, at all. Just like now.

So, red herring, imo. We are not running out of energy. We are storing it in the atmosphere. (a joke, sorry). Here's an idea. I have a funny feeling Dark Matter does not fuse. It would probably be real matter, then. So, a much simpler fusion model may well be extrapolated, soon. Just explain why Dark Matter can't fuse, maybe.

And, does it take vast energy or just exponential efficiency gains? Social awareness of the planet, generations of Green Machine. That's already happening. If there is a Higgs field, there is an energy tap of the future. It is said that non-causality can be shown in the energy exchanges at the Planke width.

The math says we can make energy appear, do work and then be done before causality allows the watt to dissipate. Watt/heat happened in the far reaches of time and space before the work was done in this Present. It all about the entanglement, maybe.

So, I don't buy it. Just 20 years ago in Science, was nothing like today. Our problem is ourselves. We believe it as it comes and goes. Many are faint from the idea of global warning and are being taught to believe that any energy production is our doom. Teen suicide is way, way way UP. We are being taught to be hopeless, inch by inch. <sigh>

as much as i hate military budgets im sure glad we on the winning side of wwii, which is a hell of a scary fate of the recent to leave the world with had we lost.

Here is a video discussing a TV documentary called Surviving Progress which outlines cases where progress of societies gets ahead of their being in tune with the world and leads to problems. such as when people discovered to run herds of animals off cliffs when they only need 1 or 2. Or I can imagine the tragic case of Eastern Island.

this person talks really well, im still watchin it

Doer, if you're talikng about lunar helium-3 ... it is a likely fuel for the aneutronic fusion reaction. But it requires 10x the temp x pressure that the DT reaction requires, and we have not even reached trial sustain on that, let alone usable sustain.

So I worry that it's still speculative. And the sheer cost of lunar mining with our current propulsion technology would be a commitment similar to laying the foundation of a great cathedral in 1225 ... cn

I'm not connecting the dots right, I guess. To me, premeditated murder is more often than not a solitary act. No conspiracy required. It struck me as off topic. cn
so? you didn't answer me. If me and the Mr decide to go next door and murder all the college kids and steal their toys that would be a conspiracy for premeditated murder. If you were on our Jury...

I believe this is the first time (that I've noticed?) that you've mentioned team murder in the scenario. Most Murders One are solo acts. When two or more agree on the act, then conspiracy (as the legal term) does apply. cn

No doubt about that. It would make the Paul Ryan budget, child's play, in the need for convincing arguments, in the public opinion arena.

"Oh no, it saves money!" .........right, sure, I see (not)

Yet, it's all about the containment, material science, and propulsion in a rare serendipitous alignment that can probably only happen by unfetter greed. (check, we have that) But, I think it 's the lunar treaty and catch-up spacefaring for India and China, for now.

So, unfetter the greed and it will happen on it's own, I think. After all, we are only 1 minute after the dawn of commercial space flight.

That was only one example, IAC. Pull energy through the sub-nano wormholes works on paper. So, yes, the fossil fuel economy is giving fair warning it has mucho improvements that are needed, but the 3rd world is just getting started in the industrial age. It''s our duty to referee that and provide much cleaner, better industrial tech than we had to use. We need to provide the guidance, by force when necessary to not allow the mistakes we make. That's what our parents did. Get efficient. Get effective. Good advice for all, I'd say.

It's bettering the family. It's giving back to next generation of Nations. We have to work them through the regional conflicts and play court games with our enemy/trading partners, at the same time we don't get blinded sided, somehow.

And we all have a razor-nuke in our boot, to just keep it fair. Fusion is a fine source of energy, already, right? How can we run out of energy? Won't we run out of stupidity, first?
