Two years is about max for those seeds. That's if they are stroed correctly in a cool, dark place.

I'd think your seeds are bad. It's best to use fresh ones and remember that genetics is king.

Most just crack open, ill leave in warm place for another day to see if anything comes out....some do and some dont after like 3 days the ones that dont i put in jiffy...the ones that do i put in jiffy immediately with tweezers water is ph'd at 6.4 and they go in a rubbermaid bin with propagator and cfls just to keep warm......oh yeah the seeds arent that old i seem to go through a lot of "bags" so i constantly have an influx of seeds so they are "fresh" i mean as fresh as can be expected from bagseed....i really am lost maybe i just dont have a green thumb.....its pitiful cuz i see other peoples journals and they have 10/10 and 5/5 out of bagseed and im just kinda like 3/45 and the seeds look good nice plump brown with dark "tigerstripes"...im at a loss bout to call it quits before i even start:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

my last grow failed because I didn't water them enough. I learned that seedlings die out very fast and you need to keep the soil moist at all times.

only use big dark seeds, if not store bought. Use jiffy pellets, plant the diameter of the seed (2mm) under surface. Heat from bottom mid 80's, humidity around 90%. Roots coming out bottom and sides, transplant. Over 95% success rate.
Soaking seeds may cause root damage, putting them in the fridge first, is a good idea.

sounds like improperly stored seeds. or they were jst weak to begun with. a good seed will pop and grow a root within a few days. no more than 3 if the y are strong. i've had them pop ot a root after 12 hours in the past.

What is the room temp where you keep trying to germ seeds ? you should germ in a warm area like around 80 degrees, the warmer temps help alot.

You should also keep the container your growing in directly off a cold floor, try to keep everything moist & warm & your success rate should go way up.

hey dude, that weed you got might be threaded in some way, or may not be mature enough on harvest, I doubt not a single seed being unable to germinate

how about your temps? - you must keep a good 30 degree temp

i germinate my seeds on the top of my pc, right on the power supply, it generates enough heat to keep the seeds warm

i use toilet paper, which is bad cuz its supposed to have bleach in it, but I still got pretty good success rate, paper napkins are better thou

I germ my seeds in rapid rooter starter plugs.they have a hole alread the correct depth, just put in your seeds place the plugs into a tupperware dish add about 1/2-3/4 inches of water in the bottom, place the lid on container without snapping down and put in a warm fairly dark place . I have a really good sucess rate this way even with some bag seed 5 months old....hope this is helpful.........good luck

For those that you get sprouts on and nothign happens after, what conditions are they in.. I just bury them about a half inch in moist rockwool, PH adjusted, and have never had a problem. If you are transferring them from a germ box or something (I put them on paper towels) you have to be real careful when transferring them into their final place, the roots can get damaged easily at that age.

I hate to say it, but it does happen that bag seeds don't germ. Before I bought seeds on-line, I tried with "unknown type, age, or anything" bag seeds I got from a friend. I had around 90 of them. I tried all methods and only one sprouted and then died. I bought seeds and "BAM!" they all cracked in less that 48 hours.

Sounds like grungy seeds to me. A healthy one would just be trying to bust out of that shell. Just wanted to let you know not to follow the advice on page 1 about planting your seeds 1-1.25 inches deep. Don't do it. That is way too deep, plant them at about 1/4", 1/2" max. A germinated seed should usually pop a sprout up within a couple days.

I germ in a propagator with clear top on top of my surround sound reciever its pretty warm and i leave it on constantly. 1 that popped i left in jiffy and put it i perilite cup kept it real moist. 1 in rockwool i put in hydro setup rubbermaid style and one came straight up from potting soil under 2 cfls 26 watters bout 5 inches away. Iam germing some since last night in paper towell and gonna see what happens....im conscerned about orderin seeds if i cant even get the bagseed to work but it may just be bad timing with seeds and the bags they came from......im open to all suggestions and will try those that i read and have not attempted......thanks to all who replied.....i love this site and learning....i waited and read and re-read, and re-read....(you get the idea)before posting with this issue because i didnt want to find some minor flaw and feel stupid...thanks again and wish me luck i wanna enjoy the fruits as it seems all of u growing wizards do thanks

Wet 2 plain white paper towels/napkins and squeeze out the water so it's soaked but not dripping. Place the seeds on 1 then put the second on top. You can fold them over if you like to fit into a small plastic zip lock bag. Put the bag in a warm dark place. Open the bag daily for air and check the seeds. When the tap root is at least 1/2-1" long (2-3 days), remove and transplant them into your growing medium. Carefull you dont tear the tender new root.
