A Fun Grow

Leave a taller stub when you top...you want the extra leftover meat of the stem to avoid it bursting and splitting down the middle. I personally like to crank that LST and dip the top more to be level with first node...at least for the first few days, then i loosen up on it substantially...otherwise looks fine it'll work like that

So I had some seeds laying around above what I am going to plant for this season. I was bored and waiting to start something so I tossed 3 seeds into a bowl of water to soak overnight. The lights that I have are not anything special just 2 florescent fixtures with 2 33 watt garden tubes. Since I already have the seeds for the plants that I want to grow I can give these to my neighbour when the time comes to place then outside. This is the earliest I have ever started seeds and I am just experimenting with the nutes I have.

23/03..... placed seeds in water to soak overnight.
24/03.....placed seeds between paper towels on a plate and on a heat mat but covered them from the light ( See pic's 1 2
27/03.... All seeds sprouted (see pic 3) and were placed in Jiffy pots (see pic 4) Note that they are not all the same due to different sprouting times
29/03.....Today was a nice day, full sun and 65 degrees in the greenhouse so I took them for a walk and left them there for 4 hours.
Every grow should be fun, mine are!

I agree. I should have allowed the plant go grow a bit more before I did that. Guess where my first support will go. I also retied the training and lowered it to even with the first leaf. There is one thing that I wondered about and that is should I have pinched the main stem or at least put a kink in it? Note that the leaves have drops on them due to giving the plants an Epsom salts spray.

Pic 1 is the plant that I started to train a few days ago before I topped it and removed a large leaf to get a better pic and light down to the lower shoots. Pic 2 and 3 are the end result. Pic 4 is the Kush bag seeds I started a few weeks ago. Pic 5 is the brave little plant that tried. This plant has looked like this for 3 weeks now and I think he is finished and that means I get to start a new plant. As usual comments are welcome.

Notice that I never once called these plants "Girls" See pic's This is the plant that I topped and these balls showed up sometime since last night. That is one of the plants that was to go to my neighbour. It is buried in the composter now. The other plant that was started at the same time is the one that I am training and it still looks ok. But this is the earliest that I have ever had a plant show it's sex

I dug a couple of holes in the garden beds today. Made them 5-7 inches deeper than I needed to and dumped a bag of potting soil in then planted 1 of the unknown plants. It is the one that was sown at the same time as this one but ended up being male. See post above. I intend to keep playing with this plant and trying different methods of topping and training. The other 3 plants are going to my neighbours's garden tomorrow. In the second hole I planted my Fem White Widow. See pic 4 Note to self next time do NOT use 3 gallon pots for plants that will be transplanted. They were a bitch to get out of the pots without busting some of the roots. When you look at the pic's you will see that the soil is the same as the surrounding area. The potting soil in under that due to having cats that go outside. If they saw that they would think it is a new bathroom for them.
