A51 W90s grow

what I think of the light so far^? have you been reading my posts!! hehe I am very happy with them, best grow lights I have ever used so far.

Its a bit early to confirm a final weight, but it looks like this

Blue City Diesel, 5.5 oz
Oh God, 1.5 oz
CBC (I got all 3 plants mixed) 10-12 oz
pop corn buds or buds with seeds 2 oz

There was too much weed in the CBC box to weight it on an accurate scale so I will know for sure when I jar them. I got the pound for sure might be 18 oz, if I was greedy I could mix the 2 oz of popcorn buds for a grand total of 18-20 oz.

I think it was my best yield per sq ft so far. The CBC yielded no pop corn buds, nothing but nice nugs from top to bottom on all 3 plants. I can see how things could have gone a lot better had I vegged the 3 runts an extra week. More than 2/3 of the weight came from 2 out of 5 plants...

I reorganized the lights in the room and have 4-5 plants vegging in there now... I am thinking of doing another run for the yield with the w90s. I divided the lights into 4 clusters of 2 (3000k-4000k) and I have 2 3000k for side lighting. It lights up around 8x3 so 24 sq/ft, significantly less wattage per sq/ft than I normally run but my goal is to yield over 1.5 pounds with 10 w90s. I will post a pic of the new setup soon.

Have a51 sgs, xgs, rw75 and w90. These are all safe and effective. Those 5w Cree panels have not turned to utter crap just because cobs showed up. They were and are great lights and bullet-proof. Results have been great! Apache tech might even still grow plants. Also have an optic 120. I move them and mix them i want.

The option of connecting w90's is a nice feature.

Final dry weight: 17.5 oz of highgrade. The BCD lost quite a bit more than expected down to only 4 oz from 5.5 before the first sweat, a bit disappointing considering how heavy the colas were when they were wet I thought she was going to be between 6-8. The total amount for the CBCs was 12 oz, I wish I had not mixed all 3 plants I feel the main one was between 8 to 9 oz, by far the largest yield I have ever gotten from a single plant, not bad for a home made strain! Anyway, round number 2 underway, I will keep em vegging for 2 weeks then flip....

I'm quite happy with mine also, it's my first experience with anything from Area 51 and they will probably be the only lights I use from here on out. I'm sure you have written it multiple times already but what is the space you are flowering in?

no I have not, sounds interesting they say its steamed blood meal? anyway, I try to grow mostly for free besides electricity and bugs, so I can't imagine I will try it out instead I ll throw a couple dead chickens in the compost pile hehe

The canopy was about 3.5 ft x 4 ft. I was really busy during the previous grow and the lights were never hung properly. I didnt think they were that intense either but now that I have grown with them, I feel like I can cover much larger area by spreading the fixtures apart and keeping them 3+ft away from canopy until early flower. This time around the canopy will be roughly 7 x 3, or more ... so this grow will be in the 40 watts per sq ft. ball park. Keep in mind that this setup is 10 x 90 watts - maybe 5-8 watts for fans and driver so between 800-900 watts, I sure hope this can match a 1000w HID so technically I should try spreading the light over 25 sq ft, which is what most people try to cover with a 1000.

What type haul would you consider an equal to 1000watt hps? around 600 grams? 25 sq ft sounds about right, good luck I am interested to see how close you can get, at 900 watts you should be able to beat down that hps. Do you factor in exhaust / intake fans? my hid lights use a 300w exhaust and 300w intake fan

I'm in a 36 x 36 x 5ft tent and when I contacted a51 they reccomend I use 2 for the space, does that seem about right to you?

I think most hobby grower like to have room to move around in their tent so that might be why Jeff recommended 2 lights but I dont think its enough if you wanna grow plants wall to wall. It depends how much weed you want to grow, you get what you put in.

right I only have a really cheap 5'' inline fan in there ,... I think it only uses 90 watts... no intake fan
the room with the w90s is actually a 6x7 room so depending how plants behave I might actually spread the lights over 4x7 instead of 3x7 .... in that case my 850 watts would cover more than what a thouie would but we'll have to see, I dont want to miss out on quality. The plants are only vegging and I have not decided which ones were gonna be flowered in there next round.

Hey guys, Im cleaning up and doing much needed maintenance tonight. My plans have changed, Im not doing another round for yield with the w90s. I am scaling down a bit (power wise) Im gonna start using that room as a veg room and use the w90s in combo with the AF600s, moving all the cheap Chinese lights aside until I can convert some of them to COBs.

So far I am not very happy with how the 3000Ks ''veg'' the plants, which is no surprise. I will eventually start adding 5000k leds to the veg room (DIY or a51, or ???) . For the time being Im gonna veg with T5s.

Just to end this thread on a good note, the budding room has nothing but A51's leds for now until I start adding my DIYs

I will need help with the DIY COBs so I will start a new thread about those and this is the end of this thread. Thanks for watching and thumbs up to A51

I just transplanted the plants that will be grown under the w90s. 2-6 plants depending on when I get the lights. I also moved 4 AncientOG X Crisco (the blueberry pheno) into the other flower room. Im hoping to get the lights within 2 weeks so these plants will be ready to be flowered. The line up might be OhGod, Ancient OG X Crisco and ZionHaze.

Blue City Diesel Pollen

Blue City Diesel pollen cut with corn starch, I froze it all...

Test plants, 8x w90s are going in this room and will flip to 12/12 on that day.View attachment 3520905 View attachment 3520904
I just found this jar of pollen in the freezer, 5 years old! gonna try it out haha I found it, then I googled ''greensanta blue city diesel pollen" and here I am, I should probably start documenting my grow again, so useful! is that pollen still viable?? let's find out! It looks like I had done a good job of storing it!

also I just realized all of them W90s from A51 are still kicking, they were the first COBs I bought, the fans and everything still working as good as new... probably my favorite lights I ve ever bought, for ease of use and reliability, they have mostly been used as side lighting for the past many years but never any down time, 12hours a day, for 5 years now
