A SIP to Mars.

Hey Myke I used acuabac to help rid me of gnats, fought them for a couple years using all sorts of methods, they never disappeared till I used aquabac, this is my second grow with no gnats. I'm also recycling my soil everytime so this is the third grow with this soil, not sure if that has anything to do with them being eradicated.
Hey thanks, really trying not to spend money.Sand was cheap and I also cover my cooking dirt in my garage with it.So sand gets used here.

24 hrs and noticed a big drop in flyers when I checked.
Also lubed up some clones and made a spot for a dome.Only room for 4 2g pots so have to clone to make some room.

I have a question,I need to recover the heat I exhaust outside.Winter is coming.Thoughts?
I can run exhaust air over cold intake(outside) air.I know condensation will happen, sloped so it drips in to a pan?
Cheap I am so material comes from new home dumpsters.

I looked into this, but I'm just going to temper my air instead (I'm more worried about roof snow melting since I vent to my attic). This link is for a setup that looks effective for its cost.

Ha,never seen that before.Great idea, just needs to be 6" or 8" to accommodate more air flow.

I have one that I run on a timer at night, uses a lot of power so trying not to use it much.Gives me heat though. With outside temps dropping my house furnace runs now so I get some dry heat there also.
I'm just starting to have to run my furnace now. A couple more months and I'll need humidifiers running thru the winter. Rh will get into the teens in my house.

Yeah me too, works for the grow space as the plants are the humidifiers but upstairs gets dry.I can always tell by the gaps in the hardwood floors when humidity is low.

Big fan of sand with sips, it eradicated gnats as well as keeps the upper level of the soil more moist which I found better when they drink a lot. I also use liquid fertilizer which passes thru the sand
I also store my cooking dirt covered with sand.Checked it last night the sand was quite moist its been wicking the water out.Thoughts on replacing it to let it dry out?Its been there for approx 5 weeks.
