i think what he's getting at is that some people take for granted that we have it pretty good. goes along with what i tell people all the time who decry the "lack of freedom" we enjoy, which is "you should move to syria in protest of our lack of freedoms".

Most of those pot-heads also dont realise that most of Ron Pauls policies would be watered down to fuck if he was elected. Certain things could happen, certain things you'd need massive compromise and certain things (gold standard for example) is little more than an ideologically sound but practically speaking impossible tasks.
He is a step in the right direction on the civil liberties front tho, which would be the easiest policies to "get through".
I personally think a referendum to amend the Constitution to allow for the US Government to print money is also a step in the right direction. The Fed needs to die (it seems to print more money for foreign "entities" than for US domestic, meaning "yous" get "our" inflation), and the Government needs to put it to the people whether they print more money or not. Also the Fed needs to "unswap" the dollars for euros trades theyve undertaken, the Euro is shakey as fuck, and France seems to be moving WAY more left...meaning they probably aint going to want to be the big player in the "Euro Bailout Game" thats Sarky and Merkel have been playing.
I think if Ron Paul more played the "Realist Libertarian" tune instead of the "Hardcore Old Skool Libertarian", he'd probably get a massive majority of Americans to vote for him purely because he seems to be a genuinely "common sense" guy.

I agree but I would like to point out that the same applies to Obama. He has been fighting an uphill battle since he has been in office and he has been one of the only candidates who (at least at some point in time and at least ambiguously) has opposed cannabis prohibition and the wars. As for economic policies and solutions, I doubt any president will have the power to ever exact any change in this country or in another, that is already under the control of powers outside any border.
