A growdrobe for veg, flowering, clones and mother?

Long time reader, 1st time poster. :eyesmoke:

I have been reading posts for weeks in an attempt to find the best method for a stealth grow in an apartment. A growdrobe with a couple of plants is what I am most interested in.

What I have in mind is a wardrobe about 6', 4', 2', ... but I haven't bought one. From what I have gleamed from this, and many other sites, a good system would be a 400W digital ballast with an MH for veg and HPS for flowering, a carbon filter, a fan for active exhaust, a passive intake or two and a fan inside to keep the air moving.

My question is, is there a way to incorporate a mother and some clones into a growdrobe like this, so that when the plants are done flowering there can be a couple others in the growdrobe ready to go?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

if you only want to have 1 or 2 plants you could divide it in half and have two flowering plants on one side and the mother and clones on the other w/ some CLF's on a 18/6 light cycle.

hope that helps ya out

Tanks for the advice greenman.

That sounds pretty cool. So 2' width for the mothers and clones and 2' width for the flowering plants.

Would it be possible to have 2 full grown plants in 2' of width? And do I need the same amount of hieght for the vegging clones as I do for the flowering plants?

it all depends on how high you want the mother to be, if u keep her short and bushy then no not a lot of high is required. Just make sure the lights arent to close to the plants

Thanks FUBAR. Great avatar by the way.

The more I think about this, the more I wonder if it is even worth it to do 2 seperate compartments.

If I did both stages in the one chamber and used a 400HPS(flowering) and 400HPS(veg) in the same compartment, would I get twice as much weed but it would take twice as long?

(I guess I would have to grow from seed then?)

If you do this, watch the heat.

You don't want your grow found by the fire Department!

Thanks BusMike, that is a really good point...and from stories I have read heat always seems to be a problem wth these things.

I think I could use a cool tube over the 400W HPS. Do you think that will be enough to keep it cool?

I see what you mean Fubar. It would be nice to eliminate the germinating from seed time, and save money on seeds.

Here is an idea...would it be possible to have a small compartment, possibly at the top of the drobe beside the carbon filter and fan, where you could grow clones?

Could you just cut the clones from one of the plants before they flower and just let that plant grow to harvest? Then keep the couple clones in the small compartment up top for a month untill it is time to go again. Then , no big mother to worry about.

How much space would you need for this? How much light for a couple clones for a month of veg.?

I dont see how that couldnt work, just clone the one you flowered. I really dont think you would need that much space maybe 2x2x4. As far as lights go, I would say 2 65watt cfls per plant should be plunty of light.
