A good noob soil please help.

Hello everyone! I would like to know what knowledge everyone would be able to share with me about finding a good soil. I am unable to order online and I don't have a local hyrdo shop I can stop at, the closest I have is Lowes, Walmart , and Kmart type of places. Any advice would be great.

Look for "SUPERSOIL" at your local wallmart or hardware store. (it is inexpensive not cheap and it works very well)
It has worked miracles for my many outdoor grows over the years !!
I like to add 20% perlite to my soil also.
I have since changed all of my outdoor soil to Sunshine mix #4 !! A much better alternative..
I hope this help you decide !!
Ciao !!

Miracle Gro seed starting mix. I mix it with perlite at 4:1. All you have to do is water with pH7 water when your pots feel light and you're good to go for about a month. $5 for 8qts. is pretty cheap. Don't listen to the people who tell you you can't grow in MG. They've either never tried it themselves or they blamed their mistakes on the soil.

Call around to your local indepependant greenhouses and ask if they sell pro mix, they will know what you are talking about. It will take a few calls though. It is the soil a lot of greenhouses buy to use for their own plants and is about $6 a bag if they sell it that way, they might just have a pile out back and sell you a bucket full. The soil is hard to beat and has been recommended for years.

If you are going to buy at lowes or somewhere which I'd bet you do, look for something without fertilizer added and says safe for seedlings and you'll have the best luck.

You can go to foxfarm.com and order soils from them. It's all organic and comes with enough nutes to last you your first month of grow.

I'm sure all the above will work. What are you planting in and where, can make a difference. If growing outside stay away from the stuff with perlite in it, to out of place in the woods. If indoors add 1/4 to 1/2 coco to the sunshine or promix for better results..

Peace
