I'm just getting a clue on some of these manipulation techniques. I think I'm a little late for topping, but what I am going to do is get rid of everything on the lowest 4-6" of the plant to maximize that top cola, and do some stress training to bring the higher side branches closer to the height of the tops. So, if all goes well, I hope to have one nice top cola and 2-3 well-developed extras on the sides.
Another good thing you can do is a half assed supercropping type deal. I did It to my tall
Blue cheese n it worked out pretty damn good. Just to down like 3 inches below the largest cola on top, and then squeeze the main stem til
It pops. That's the stem breaking, lol. Then just bend the top of the plant over so it's leaning like this ---- / ---- , or maybe even a little more horizontAl than that. It'll allow the buds below the top to get huge and even increases your yield a bit. But the downside is that you won't have the worlds biggest cola
On top anymore. It'll still
Be big, just not mammothly massive LOL. But I'm
Sure you have shit planned out on your own man, don't lemme
Be a backseat grower, u do your own thing, n try somethin new whenever your comfortable with doin it. Just remember that no matter how many times you read about topping a plant, or pruning or bending and manipulating them, until you actually do it your gonna be apprehensive
About it. It's amazing to watch them bounce back n heal, n then take on a totally new form. I'm at the point now where I'll never grow another plant again without topping it. I'm one of the firm believers in the whole "topping a plant = more yield" myth. Some people say I'd does, amir of people say I'd doesn't. It's just one of those things you gotta try for yourself to see which method works best
