All this legalization shit has caused the community to be a giant pissing match. My hash/flowers/breeding/dick is bigger than yours. I honestly think it's done more bad than good.

Quite a difference from what the community used to be. Enjoy what you have and how lucky we are to be able to grow such a giving plant.

I am considering really giving this tech a go, I have a deep freezer, 99 iso otw,mason jars, coffee filters & a magic bullet blender. My question is qwisoking, what is possible return wise? Given it is some of the best herb I can find. If it could be worth it I would buy an oven no doubt.

ive always found similar yields to winterized bho. so maybe an avg 15-20%, could be a little more if you have great bud

Question 1: cold, alcohol picks up more chlorophyll and fats when it's warm.
Question 2: I wouldn't use stems or poor quality trim, you'll end up with almost nothing but fats and chlorophyll. The oils in high quality trim and bud are pretty much exactly the same quality, trim will yield you less though.
Question 3: No.
Question 4: You really want Everclear or any other food grade alcohol above 95% alcohol by volume. The problem with isopropyl alcohol even though it's so much cheaper is that there are acetates added. They are added to prevent people from drinking these alcohols, which are intended for cleaning or whatever. Acetates will not evaporate from your isohash. =( Choosing food grade alcohol is important for your health, and the health of those around you. =p
Question 5. Use everclear, and rememer that temperature is VERY important. you want to freeze everything before washing your trim with everclear. This is to limit the amount of chlorophyll picked up by the alcohol. If you do this perfectly, you will end up with a golden alcohol tincture instead of dark green/light green.

also only 70% to reduce skin irritation. above that is for cleansing purposes
i have seen 70% isopropyl alcohol but not as common

isopropyl alcohol is not denatured. typically 91/99%.
completely clean, and is infact its main purpose. cleaning very sensitive electronics and in the medical field etc where we can't have any residue

most pharmacies will carry rubbing alcohol, perhaps dyed green depending where you shop and an isopropyl alcohol either 91 or 99,

I also make rosin/ice rip/bho/butter and rso but iso/everclear is my favorite

How does one find out if you cooked n whipped the rubbing alcohol out of it

I've enjoyed this thread! The only Qwiso I ever ran was not quick and not cold so I think that explains my past results. I'm going to try again after reviewing some of the excellent techs here.

The only fresh frozen I have on hand are popcorn buds that were cut warm and then frozen so I'm guessing I won't get the best results but I'm curious so I'll give it a try and expect to still have plenty of room for improvement.

I've got one strain in particular that does not rosin well but smokes nice so I'm curious to see what it does with ISO. Cheers!

Apologies for this question line, but I'm searching and not finding it. Is there a holding capacity for ISO? Meaning, could I pour my first rinse over more bud and keep dissolving more trichs? Would there be diminishing returns or quality issues?

Ya the more time you rerun booze the less holding and stripping capacity it has... the stuff is cheap and it best to do small batches that way its cold and quick.... if you want to run a bunch of product then put your pyrex on the heat source and go from the freezer to the pyrex over and over till its gone or the pyrex is full.. then your looking at an all day cook.

Thank you! Got my ISO in the freezer and hope to play tonight. I'm not planning to do any heat on the evap as I really want to see how much flavor I can get. Planning to run some fresh frozen and another batch of dry buds from the same strain just to see the difference. Thanks again!
