Wait a second how do raising banking fees and getting bailed out by the federal government make you a good CEO? It preserves the status quo but doesnt benefit anyone but the bank and its shareholders.

I dont understand how people like DOER and CANNASYLVAIN blindly defend the status quo of capitalism without any fixes or even sounding like they consider it broken. "Get your shit together" isnt a solution.

Business has turned into sports. Your best player/product draws a lot of fans and customers, so your best player demands more money, the owner doesn't want to make any less money paying him so they just raise prices on the fans.

These overpaid CEOs arent doing anything innovative AT ALL to deserve the money they are being paid. They are making money through cost cutting of their employee benefits, wages, and product quality. Who picks up the difference? The government.

You cant have it both ways. You cant screw employees out of a fair wage and not think it will take a toll on infrastructure. People want to blame the state of this country on immigrants HAHAHAHAAHAH! Oh but they can live off of dollar menu food and welfare. Nope no health consequences there. Dumbasses
I can say, since you provide no facts, but only hand-wringing...."How could anyone think...?" ;all of this is rhetorical nothing.

Yet, I provide clear cut, real world reasons, based on personal observations, over a lifetime, but you don't answer.

But, you have it all figured out? And you call the dumbass on us?

All I can say it that it is over your head and you take a lazy simpleton approach to act like you know shit about it.

You can apply for a CEO job. You seem to have such a great grasp of the subject. Good Luck! You are not qualified?

Oh, I thought it was so easy? All it takes is luck, good looks and few jokes when you can still hold your liquor, right?

You already know how to shut yer trap when drunk, right? (or do you?)

So, what are the qualifications you lack? If you know....

Government bailing out businesses is a moral hazard we should avoid. Government giving money to banks with no over sight, 100 cents on the dollar is cronyism, not capitalism. If we used principles of capitalism, the banks would have suffered for their borderline practices. If the government had not repealed Glass-Steagal during Clinton's term we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

Our government has been infiltrated by big Pharma, Monsanto, Gold Mansacks and Big Oil. There are screams that the government needs to reign in these capitalist vultures that gives even more power to the central planners. This only exacerbates cronyism. If you want to limit this, you'll have to limit our federal government's power. If getting in bed with the government wasn't so profitable it wouldn't be happening on this scale. Instead of tasking the government to keep the government from screwing us over by proxy, let's limit what damage the government can do. You'll see cronyism shrink and freer markets will emerge.

What about Moderate Jihad or the Christian Right? Or Gay Republicans for Jesus? Handgun Owners of America? The Beef Lobby? Organics? MADDs? ad neauseum?

Hasn't the Govt been infiltrated by $$$ across the board? Isn't that the point of Congress, to weigh all these, ME!, Me! MEs! against the greater good? The govt is us. Collects some money and get laws changed. It's your right! Infiltrate if you can.

My gosh, bro, it seems like you are only smelling 1/2 the roses! :)

Yeah $9 isn't enough, but it's better than what we've got... I have a question. How come everybody acts like Obama is just "handing poor people shit" when Bush raised minimum wage like a dollar a year for like 7 years. And who else thinks the next "stimulus plan" should just include a $100 check to every registered voters mail box. Even with just $100 per person, about 30% would save it, the rest would go buy shit. Which stimulates the companies that have a chance at fixing the economy... Instead of giving it to failing companies.

What I'm talking about is wall street bankers in the administrative cabinet. Monsanto execs appointed to the FDA, EPA etc, Big Pharma board members sitting on the FDA policy team, Big Oil having members of congress and senate dependent on their stock options, hospital corporations and insurance cartels writing health and welfare policy.

The major players have infiltrated, that's different than special interest groups donating money and begging with promise of votes. That's bad too, just not on the level of a Monsanto or Goldman Sachs.

and Im asking you is his liquor holding and secret keeping worth $12-$24 million a year when $14 an hour is barely enough to share a room with someone in a major city? Why shouldnt companies share their success more with their employees? Im not begrudging his millions but we've made icons out of some of these CEOs and rewarded them over and above any reasonable limit. How can a company profit and succeed at the expense of the health and well-being of its employees? How can a nation succeed?

We seem to be doing pretty good. Rumor of our demise is seriously exaggerated, hee, hee. When you have hundreds, the $10s become the ones. Some of us, the $1000s become the $1s. You lack perspective to say what is reasonable.

What you miss is what they do to earn the money. It's track record. And why dodge?

Let's us be serious. What is stopping you from being a CEO? (I'll help you, but let's see what you got)

Clue: It is only one word.

Seeing as banks were the subject of discussion. How are you a competent CEO, when the only thing that kept your business afloat was gov. handouts? Ford, GM, Chrysler, JP Morgan, Citi, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, Capital One, AmEx, etc. come to mind. How is driving your business into the ground through practices you knew were irresponsible and dangerous the makings of a competent CEO?

What's stopping change? Selfishness? Delusion?.
Your Envy is what is stopping you on the road to high power CEO. Envy is immodest, and so the mind turns to a sort of mental gymnastic that returns a feeling of disgust toward greed.

Also, there is your hidden, to you, pretzel logic that says the Rich are a bunch of assholes and became assholes because of and after getting the $$$ handed to them for doing nothing. Wha?? A little fuzzy there, don't you think.

OK, then it's becomes in your secret to you, self deception...you have to become a greedy, selfish, deluded asshole to amass Riches. And even more back patty....I'm clean and pure, I could never be like those disgusting people.

Believe me, been there done that. Envy, that turns to disgust, anger and hatred, in the back of our minds. Brainwashed. Please make a note of it. I'm giving you a million dollars worth of life training, for free.

Just think about it. Do some google about it and you will see. Repressed and so blind, Envy.

Doer you are a first class troll. You sound like Steve Martin at the end of The Jerk. All I need in life is this lamp and this paddleball and these...
I dont envy the rich I am against the changing of the system so it obscenely rewards people who are typically antisocial at the expense of their workers and customers.

I'm saying, I been there. I said the same thing. Do you know what an ascetic is? Possession-less? How close you live next to nothing is hardly the point.

Do you think I had a silver spoon? I have come very close to being without any possessions, including the clothes on my back.

As I've said, you want to fight. I want to help. But, it is very much over your head, yet. It's' kinda sad/funny. I found some of my notes from my college days. What a bunch a shit. A real no nothing poser. I sounded exactly like you.

Save yourself 10 or 15 years, and have it made in the shade, without being a self possessed asshole, if you pay attention to what I council.

Conquer your self deception and rise above blind envy. Say, gosh dang it, I can be rich. I won't be an asshole. I'll just get the money to help me and my friends.

Here it is - the presumption that success is only a single set of circumstances and that nothing else can even substitute. This is the root of the accusation of "envy", that someone sees another and wants to be as that other. This accusation is based upon a premise that is rarely accurate.

Well, you are all wrong with this accusation, blame/stupidity. This forum wants fights more than discussion. It is so easy to have a stoner right fight, I guess. You don't see a fight so you make it one. J'accuse!!!

You are another to which this advice applies.

If you don't know self, which even I who strives, says we do not, you are doomed to a lower level of expression. You and I have all the deadly sins, right there, inside. We don't need God to tell us this. In fact, we have God to tell it our fucked up situation.

So, you are almost there. Nothing else can substitute for the presumption of success. It's the self assurance that leads us off the couch.

And I'm telling you from my wide and ragged experience, rags to riches, for sure, what will stop your presumption of success without you even knowing, is blind envy. We must face it or grow old and bitter blaming the corporations, govt and all else but self, for the lack. With no secret blind fear and envy, you can build a successful sense of abundance.

But, knock your own heads, you accused. You accuse yourself. Very Freudian break through if you can follow it.

Interesting, but envy has never been much of a problem with me. More so I have a problem with its opposite and that has not stopped me from being successful or otherwise upon my own merit and according to my own definition of the word success.

I never wanted to be a CEO of a large company and I never wanted to be Rich enough to drop all of my other pleasurable activities in order to attempt to attain that goal. Hardly the definition of an envious man.

Canndo,

The opposite of envy, is, mind your own fucking business. That hardly describes you.

If you really didn't have envy, you wouldn't make nonsense comments like having problems with the opposite of envy.

You can't have problems with the opposite of envy, because that means you have envy.
