8 bulb 2' T5 Tent

Thanks cat, so my decision is cut down to three light choices.
1. A 400 w dimmable hps in a cool tube ran @ 75% which is 300 w
2. A 500 w black star led
3 a 240 w black star led with a single 2ft t5 on eachside
What do you think? And why?

I like option 3....seems most effective for coverage and electricity costs. But if you were to scrog I'd go with 2 cuz you won't really need the side coverage.
I've always been a big led fan myself....just can't afford the dang things!
 
Option 3 the t5 would be on the top still right next to the led , and I will always go scrog from now on unless I do hps just seems better overall.
So would this change your mind,
 
Why not stick a indagrow 200w light overhead and t5 lighting on the sides.....they claim ityields 75% of a400w hps at half the wattage....not bad, couple guys are running them on riu :-)
 
Wow, nice grow and thread. I used T5's my last grow(my 1st) and they did a LOT better then expected. I just installed a new LED over my 4 plants now. I hope it does better than the T5's because for the price I paid i could have gotten 2 more T5's units with a few bucks to spare.

Oh well, 4-5 weeks till chop. Good luck with yours.
 
No, I don't pay electric my roommate does and he is cool with whatever I wanna use even if it was 2 1000w hps
 
if you can keep it cool and cost is not a worry....go for the hps option 1 :)
But if I had my choice of the 3, I'd go with option 3...best of both worlds - minus the heat problems.
 
So you would sacrifice yield and heat for option 3?

yes, yes I would...lol!
And same to you buddy....it hurts me when people leave :( Especially people you get close to like real friends....I'll be staying here for quite a while :) And I hope you do too!
 
im on here for good unless this website goes down or its confirmed the laws are on here trying to get small time growers (which i doubt would happen)

and im gunna look into getting the 240w and the t5s :)
