been on 12/12 from the start. showed sex 55 days ago so i guess it has been flowering for 55 days?

Some of the buds look really ready to smoke, there is some frosty looking frost on the sugar leaves but other parts look like where the good buds were a month ago.

Still some immature pistil formations , very white and not filled in at all ( twords the bottom of the plant )

The plant is coming down the 1st sunday of May regardless, that will be i think 13 weeks total of 12/12. It should be done by then right?

Sorry no pics at this time.

I usually wait until most of the hairs have turned...I have scope and sometimes I use it, but I find I am happiest with the smoke that I take when it starts to run low on white hairs...

While hair color isn't the way to determine when its ready, like other indicators it is a good way to guesstimate when its time to start checking.

I know that it's no bother for me to even bother with removing plants from my grow space, and straining my eyes with my crappy scope to check trichs if I've still got a ton of white growth forming at my bud sites.

Hmmm I find that when my hairs have mostly turned them most of the trichs are cloudy and a few are amber...which is what I like. Which is why I just started going with the hairs...lol. So after using your scope for awhile you will start to see the correlation between trichs and hairs... You'll see...lol. Turns out my scope was less for precheck and more for after check so I know what I like. Like I didn't have one, and was usually happy with my harvest...then I got a scope and waited longer for the trichs to amber a good deal and I was not as happy with the smoke...So, now I know what the trichs look like when the hairs on the topmost buds have receded and there are very few white hairs at all...which is when I like to harvest...getting a scope did not change my preference..it only allows me to see what my preference is up close...

but it is all different means to the same end...if you like it more amber then wait til there are no white hairs and most of the hairs have receded...lol. If you want your smoke to be really heavy and like sleepier feeling then wait til all the hairs are orange or receded----this is the point when most of your trichs will be amber with a few cloudy and no clear...so on and so forth...they all are looking at the same things in different ways...

So true. After a few grows.... you kinda get 'the feel' for how your plants are doing. Same way eventually you start to tell when its time to water based on the weight of your pots, instead guessing or sticking your fingers into the top soil to check.

Here's what I've got going on now.... that plant in the center is a Jock Horror herm-seed I got from one of my former plants. It is currently on day 85 of flower. And so far, this is the longest I've flowered with still very fresh white hairs. Usually by about this time there is a lot more red. I dunno if it is taking so long because they plant was kept so green for so long? But it is taking it's time for sure.

But oh well, I know it's not ready for me to break out my scope yet.
