63 degree temps for seedlings okay?

Just started a crop and in my grow room temps are staying around 63-65f and at night high 50s. I know this isn't optimal temps but relatively speaking are these temps good enough for my 1 day old seedlings?
I have them around 3-3 1/2 feet from a 500w mh, it's actually a 1000w dimmed to 50%. I now I can get temps up of I lower it or crank it up to 75 or 100%, but being seedlings and under a hid lamp I want to keep it dimmed and some distance away.
Will these temps be okay for now? For atleast a week till the lamp is lowered enough or when the output is at 100 or 75%. Also a heater or any other equipment is out of the question.

Just put it near something warm like a heater but not directly on it. Or on top of an electronic device that produces heat. I used an old heating pad that I had for my back and just set it on the lowest setting it was fine. Good luck

Your seedlings will be ok in those temps, however, growth is going to be pretty slow. Are you using a grow tent? I have three seperate rooms that I framed out in one large bedroom in my house. I know everyone does not have that luxery. One for clones or germinating and running them through the seedling stage and sexing if using reg ceeds. Another for vegging or keeping mothers if I so choose and of course the flower room. In each room I have a simple electric baseboard heater that is theromostatically controlled, about 4' long and just plugs into the wall receptical (120v ). You can find one at lowes or home depot for about 30.00 dollars.

I typically run my germination/seedling room on the warm side. First off its much easier to germinate ceeds in elevated temps...80-83 degrees, secondly seedlings like the elevated temps and progress rather quickly at those temps, Third...at this stage higher humidity is good...they like that as well and last...of course AIR...fans and moving the air...exchanging your air. I have this room set up with T5's. My plants never see a MH light until they are past the preflower stage and ready to go into full blown veg.

Seeing that a heater or any other equiptment is out of the question....the answer to your question is YES they will be fine until you can get those temps up...however, if at all possible...make the investment in that small heater. It will be well worth it in the long run. I never use more then a 400 watt MH lamp to veg...just my perference is all.

Studies have been done that show ( this is if you are using regular ceed ) at this stage, that lower temps, slightly higher N in the grow medium and a shorter light cycle such as 16 hrs on and 8 hrs off will result in higher female rates. Food for thought...oh and its true as I have tried it!
