Ok so first off this is my first grow. I have done quite a bit of research and pretty sure this is going to work out well. Let me list the setup we are working with.
Tent - Secret Jardin 4x4 Tent
Lights - 1000w MH digilux for veg and 1000w hortilux super HPS
Hood - Radiant 6" air cooled
Ballast - Phantom 1000w digital
DWC was made with 5 gallon buckets 6 inch net pots, dual diaphram water pump394 gph/ 24,800 cc/minute capacities, 6 inch air stones in each bucket
Clay pebbles for medium
2 Active air in-line booster fans

Going with 6 strains, abiding by colorado state law and amendment 64 I will be staying with in my 6 plant limit. For my first grow and to make that work I'm doing 3 auto flowers and 3 regular plants, I will be doing all regular plants more than likely when I can get another setup and have a perpetual grow going. Anyway 3 auto flowers Automaria II, Vertigo, Northern Lights X Big Bud. Automaria II and vertigo are from paradise seeds and NLxBB is from world of seeds.
The 3 regular plants are Pineapple Express from G13 labs, Sour Diesel from Reserve Privada, and Holy Grail Kush from DNA Genetics.

I just started germing them in a paper towels with tap water. Tap water had ph of 7 and will lower that to around 6 to soak the rockwool cubes and be placing them in there, and will post pics of that when they start sprouting. This is my first grow so any pointers from experienced growers would be much appreciated. Until then here are some pics of the setup

All seeds but automaria 2 had sprouted taproots. Looked like it was cracked and just about to come out. Went ahead and adjusted ph of all 6 buckets to what looked 6 using ph testing solution. Soaked rockwool cubes in bucket with ph of 5.5 – 6 for about 1 minute. Placed all seeds in rockwool taproot down and pinched rockwool to cover up seed. Placed rockwool cubes in open Tupperware and in dark grow tent.

Ok got light setup put water with ph of 6 in all buckets, placed rockwool cubes in the buckets. Water level is about half inch over bottom of netpots. Did this because I ran it with nothing in it for a while and didn't notice any water getting to the higher parts. Also manually watered rockwool cubes because they were feeling pretty dry. 3 of them have sprouted up nicely, 2 are coming up and will be with that nice MH light to look to now. There is one of the auto's automaria, has been slow from the start, hoping its going to pop overnight, not going to toy with it for now. Pics, nothing fun yet...20130312_120057.jpg20130312_154744.jpg20130312_154750.jpg20130312_154800.jpg20130312_154810.jpg20130312_154830.jpg20130312_154908.jpg20130312_154922.jpg

Tested waters ph on all plants and it was at about 7-7.5 on all of them. Lowered ph down to 5.5-6.0 on them all. Automaria 2 has spouted and we had 100% germination rate. Going to leave light on 24 hours for now.

Subbed. What nutes will you be using? I have 3 p.e. moms that I started abount 3 weeks. I'll send pics don't mind.

Have not decided on nutes going to go pick some up in a couple days. Was thinking General Hydroponics flora series. The PE actually looks like one of the better starters. I would love some pics feel free to post or send to me. I got my ppm / temp meter today, water temp was at like 88 which is way to damn high.. I filled it with colder water than before, hopefully this will keep it cooler, plus all the fans are working at all times now. Ph was at 7 again as well. SO changed water, lowered ph to 6. Im kinda worried rockwool isnt getting wet enough but I don't want to drowned them. I have water about 1 -1.5 inch above bottom of netpot. See the moister getting up high in side but clay pebbles outside and top of rockwool isnt wet at all. Any advice would be cool.

Water keeps getting warm, going to have to do something about that before these roots really get going. Frozen water bottles for now. Here are some more pics.

So its been too warm and I decided Im going to have to do 18/6 lights because of that. Turned off at light at 12:30 last night and back on at 6:30am. Set the timer for that schedule. Placed a frozen waterbottle in each bucket this morning. They all melted with in hours and buckets temp now is 25c or 77f, still too hot I think. Also rockwool seems to be drying out a bit so I watered them all slightly with ph of 5-5.5. Also raised the light about 6 inches, afraid the 1000w mh is too much for the little girls. More pics although nothing fun still.

Pineapple ExpressPe3.16.jpg Sour DieselSd3.16.jpg All shots from top this time, they are growing new set of leaves and no roots have shown themselves yet.

So the furthest behind is the Holy Grail Kush, but thats on leaves becaues its the first to sprout a root into the water Hgk3.19.jpg been continuing frozen water bottles, heard of a lot of people doing this and they say it does not damage roots... Doing light schedule of 20/4, gonna leave it this way for a while turning light off at 1:30 - 5:30 pm, hot part of the day. Here are a few more pics, not much change, I feel like they are a behind but hopefully they will all be pushing roots down and I can lower water level and begin light nutes, will keep posted on what type of nutes still to be determined. 319.2.jpg319.3.jpg319.jpgAuto3.19.jpg

Ok so I got nutrients, I am using House and Garden zen de zwan.
I used 10ml of part a and 10ml of part b on all plants except sour diesel, which I used 12ml of each. I also used 4.4 ml of the Root Excellurator. I will be adding the other 2 nutrients in probably 1 week from now we'll see how the plants do and how the ppms of each change. The other 2 I"ll be using from the start are zen and drip clean part of the same line. Here are more pics, HGK root looks nice and the vertigo has roots out of the side. Hoping this root excellurator really kicks these things into gear.

First nutrient feed

Followed directions for seedling/cutting rather than week one because I wanted to start slow and not kill them quickly ;) . added 10ml of part a aqua flakes, stired, waited 5-15 minutes. Added part b of aqua flakes stired, added approx 20 ml of ph down, checked ph, ph between 5.5 - 6.5. (really need digital tester) Added 4.4 ml of Root excellurator and stired.

PH had rose to 7 on all of the buckets, probably because I just added the nutes. I lowered them all down to 5.7 , Also bought ph meter so I know they were all 5.7. Also added fan to blow on all the plants and bought a temperature gauge that records current and max and low temps. I used the dimmer on the ballast to take it down to 65%. Its now at 84 in the room and should get even lower as the night comes so this will be a better option while these plants are so small. Plants seem to be responding well to the nutes, the few roots that are out are very white and have the pokey things on them. Sour d seems to have a little yellowing, I did add a bit more nutes to it but the ppm wasn’t really any higher. The darkest green is the auto nl x bb.

Be patient in the next week or so the roots will be going crazy. I use house of garden in my coco setup. The root excelurator is expensive.

yeah I def not gonna do anything stupid lol. I got a couple buddies here that grow so they been helping me out. That root excelurator is very expensive, i paid like 80 bucks for it. I still need to go get the nitrogen boost and one more thing for veg. You have good luck with the house and garden? my buddies use coco so I was thinking about trying couple in coco on the side using same nutes just grabbing coco base. Ph was up to 6.2 on pretty much all plants and I lowered them down to 5.3 - 5.6 between it snowing outside and going from 1000w to 650w my max temp today was 83 and low was 59. Kinda a large jump I will monitor that better. Its at 75 now so thats dam perfect . Time to smoke peace out.

This is my first time in coco and first using house of garden so I'm learning as I go. I normally use dutch masters nutes in dwc. Ill show ya some pics later on today.

Ph is 5.8 - 5.9 on buckets, water temp is 21c, ppm is between 220 and 260. Don't see nute burn on the plants, going to keep with the same strength when I do a res change in an few days. 67-77f has been the room temp over the past couple days which is nice. Can see roots on everything except PE and auto NLxBB. The auto flowers are so short its crazy.

Ok so yesterday did a res change on everything. Rinsed out buckets with hydrogen peroxide and hot water, same with air stone and wipe down hoses. I added nutes:
aqua flakes a and b 10 ml each
phed to 5.8
drip clean 1 ml
multi zen 6 ml
roots excelurator 4.4 ml
PPM's were
vertigo 218

nl x bb 217

automaria 220

pe 235

hgk 225

sd 230

Today at about 11:00 am ph had gone up to 6-6.3 on everything, phed down to 5.8 browing on all the roots in the water, couldnt see how it could be root rot and wasnt brown until after the change, the root excel is brown and kinda slimy like that, can tell when pouring it into measuring glass. Will keep good eye on it. I checked ppms and ph again at 6:30 pm.
PE ph 6.2 ppm 253
HGK ph 6.1 ppm 242
SD ph 6.2 ppm 247
NLxBB ph 6.1 ppm 247
AM ph 6.3 ppm 246
V ph 6.3 ppm 229
going to let ph drift a tad higher then ph down, this evening for sure. Pix

I couldnt stand the brown I rinsed the roots off in the sink, got pretty clean quick. Rinsed out bucket and air stone well, had brown chunkies everywhere. I added all nutes except root excel, but after reading so much about that preventing and helping rot I went back and added that in as well. This plant is the worst by far with the browing on the rutes/in rez but also has the most roots by far, guess we'll see how things go.

OK so they all look pretty good, dark green, maybe slight defeciency on SD. Went ahead and did res change and uped nutes on SD to PPM 500, ph was at 5.4. I broke the air stoneand bought a diff one and it floats and sucks so I will be switching it, it bubbles fine though. So this was all yesterday at about 1:30 PM. Plant looked fine this morning so I decided to up nutes on them all. so today SD ppm was at 520 ph was at 6.3 so adjusted to 5.6.

They are a growin, been letting ph drift up to 6.2 and then back to 5.8, they stay pretty steay 2-3 days after nutes are in. emps have been between 64- 80 . Kinda worried about some root issues, not sure that its rot or anything but its not good sticking to roots. Ive been told by a few people maybe to add some Hygrozyme as needed. Any opinions on this situation from more experienced would be sweet. Here are some pics.
