Hey guys! Ive been an avid member of the riu community but this is my first grow journal. So bare with me. I'd appreciate any input anyone has. Anyways...

Here we have 6 plants (2 grand Daddy purps, 1 sour diesel, 1 Afghan Kush, 1 og Kush, 1 critical) over 8 lights on a drip system in 7 gallon pots of coco. (I was concerned the pots were way too small but everyone else disagrees so results will speak for themselves, I'm new to Coco btw).so these girls are being fed gh maxi series multiple times a day and I hand water bennies every few days. Ill start with feeding them around 3x day and end around 6x day. I like to keep it simple. I only use recharge, maxigro, maxi bloom and koolbloom. In veg 600ppm and flower 1000ppm or so. There looking healthy, no bugs, plenty of AC and a co2 burner. So hopefully it turns out well. I'm gonna give them all the attention they deserve. I vegged them for Im starting day 1 of flower in next few days, I want them to recover a lil bit from the bending. They're a little taller than my past trees. Roots are well established. Again I'm worried about pot size, especially with the sour n critical but everyone assured me it's good. Let's wait n see tho. Then ill have my opinion on Coco. They'll be done just in time for Christmas... Ho ho ho!

Add some breaks and spaces in the text so its readable, i mean who wants to look at a wall of text.

State your questions directly.

Coco don't need that much room for roots, i'd say your good with 7gal pots.

So how about I only got 6 nuggets and two shakes.. smh.. mites came back. Would have sworn they were gone but World War II it is LOL . I Just started another run. same type of setup.

But this winter I'm going to build a heath Robinson version of a vertical system. 2me but I haven't quite decided whether I want to go with rockwool or PVC piping.
I'm thinking slabs and also a light mover lol.... I found another one out there that looks similar to what I'm talking about I'll attach picture.

Anyone got good deals on 48x12x4 slabs LOL...?

you're not running 16,000 watts anymore?

I am now. Usually depends on the season. I run 16 half the year Oct- Mar and 12 the other half Apr-Sept. I got two rooms.

Considering renting a friend's greenhouse and doing my first outdoor this year. 24 TREES (to stay within legal limits). mendo dope style.

Not sure if it bothers you, but General Hydro and General Organics was bought by the entity which is Scott's/MiracleGro/Monsanto.
Their formula is pretty standard for hydro food, but I always recommend people steer clear of that shit. You are sponsoring the people who are going to squash homegrowing and small dispensaries when MJ receives federal legality.
Otherwise, I love the room. Good work

Miracle grow bought out GH!!!????

Either way I've been looking to switch over 2 something else. But I want something that's cost efficient which is why I use the dry powder/ Maxi series. Any other suggestions? House Canna A & B?

For an entire run of 16 lights I use

16lbs Maxigro $85
16lbs Maxibloom $85
8lbs koolbloom $75
1lb Recharge $50
0 liters calmag $0 lol
----------------------------------
$295!

That's the most I used in a 11 or 12 week flower and it includes my veg room too.

How else can I get the job done or anywhere near that?

Ya, it's sad and that information has been buried and forgotten by most hydro shops and growers. I always recommend House and Garden products, it really depends on what your setup is like. Do you recycle your coco? Do you want to move into organics?

As far as organics go, I can't recommend using homebrewed compost tea enough. If you don't have your own compost you can pick it up at any gardening store. EcoScraps used to be the shit, but MiracleGro bought them as well. Roots organic big worm is nice but a bit more expensive than most other worm shit. So really if you want to make the move to organics I'd suggest finding a spot to put a worm bin and do your own. You can amend your compost when you go to brew your tea whether you want to toss some guano in there or whatever.

If you don't want to deal with all that shit, I'd say shoot for House & Gardens A&B. The 2 part can carry you pretty far in the grow. Roots Excellurator (or however the fuck they spell it) is worth it IF you can get the European formula. Humboldt Wholesale has a different RE and I hate it, it's dirty as hell and isn't the same product. All of the supplemental products are otherwise good for their purpose. Only use Bud XL/Top Shooter/Shooting Powder/Top Booster IF you don't reuse your coco or if you flush the hell out of it towards the end. These products (to my knowledge) are time sensitive hormone stimulants and can damage vegging plants or stunt your harvest at the very least.

Anyways, there's a lot to think about, and let me know what direction you are thinking. I'm here to help either way, if you want to move over to organics I'd be happy to help guide you there as well. Also I can't recommend a product called SOS enough, it's the best, cleanest, most cost-efficient bennie additive I've used.

Your set up looks legit! Such a shame about the mites! Im struggling with Gnats atm. Love the look of that verticle grow, wtf. Any updates on your projects would be welcome :)
