And for 5 3590 I would go hlg-320h-c1400a. That would put you at 50w per cob, total of 750w for 15 wired in series. You could also do the c1750 and dim them down, give you more power if you need. Would be 945w max

At 1400mA, your running the cobs at less than half their rated current. According to the data sheet, at 1400mA, the cobs are running @roughly 34v. The driver in the picture has a range of 89-179V so 34v x 5cobs= 170v.
170x1.4= 238W. What happens when you dim all the way up? I assume the voltage will go up when you dim up and will provide max power of 250w?
Are you running 5 cobs per HLG-240H-C1400B? Sorry for lengthy post I’m just trying to find best configuration and be efficient. Also, are 15 cobs required if I’m only growing 4 plants in a 5x5 or can I go with like 12 COBs instead?

Yes 5 cobs per driver. Lights cranked all the way up, have never dimmed down. My cob fixture gives about a 5x4 foot print, perfect for a 5x5 room. Im not an LED guy bro, I'm just fucking around. Millions more educated here then me. But ill tell you all i i know so far.
Interrsting. So what is the added benefit of going up to a let’s say 2400mA vice 1400 driver aside from putting out more heat? Do you get much more photons etc or is 1400ma sufficient?

The higher mA you go up the less lm/w you get, but at 2400mA you're going to be putting out more light than at 1400mA
Your efficacy is going to drop though the higher mA you go. At 1400mA you have 164lm/w at 2400mA you're down to 140lm/w so at 2400mA you'll be getting higher lumens obviously cause you're at a higher wattage, but it would be more efficient to just add another cob at 1400mA

1750 is available. Good happy medium, ability to run them harder at 1750 during late flower.
HLG-240H-C1750B. 2400....too much (more) heat and stress on components.

That's what I would go with as well. 12 with the 240h-c1750a x 3 4 on each rail.
Timber has the same setup for a 5x5. While they run theirs harder than 1750mA, up to 900w, I think that would be ok. They are using the 320h-c2100
