5x5 best light?

Was going to buy an optic 650s, but I’m extremely indecisive at any given point in the day...... now I’m stuck between optic slimline 650s,phototek 1000w co2 pro (after seeing Coco for cannabis and the evil genius from migro test that light and both stated there is no better light for a 5 x 5 tent/area because of all the lights they tested had trouble getting above 500 PPFD in the outer 2 feet of a 5 x 5 area except that light, and at the end of that article he stated that dr. Photon now uses one for his own personal grow and that’s the highest level of respect he can give a light manufacturing company because he’s tested so many other lights)..........but.......they haven’t tested the 650s...... so I’m trying to get out of spending 1500$ for a light and 1350$ if I choose to go with the 650s...... also are hlg’s really capable of pulling 3-4lbs out of a 5x5 tent because that’s my goal......I know I can do it because iv already hit 78g per square foot but the light I was useing won’t cover a 5x5 no mater how I position it......I just need some honest advice on getting a light that won’t set me up for failure.....thx cheers y’all

You don't need to spend $1500 to light a 5 x 5. That's insane. And don't go by reviews on youtube or websites like coco for cannabis. People get free lights and sometimes monetary compensation for promoting products. You are likely not getting an objective opinion. Sure the lights will grow weed but so will dozens of other lights that are much more inexpensive and can produce the same results.

The disclaimer from coco for cannabis:

"Coco for Cannabis only recommends products that we use or would choose. Our goal is to provide recommendations based on value as a service to our readers. We may receive commissions for some recommendations. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases."

Go over to the LED section. Someone will be able to advise you on an excellent light that won't set you back $1500 to light a 5 x 5. There is probably already a couple dozen threads regarding the same topic.

I'm an old fart on a fixed income & a budget grow.
I have to ask, are those Slim 650's really that much better/efficient that, lets say a couple of 450W quantum boards for not a whole lot more than 1/2 the $? Samsung lm301b chips & Meanwell driver, dimmable.

I swapped over to HLG 650's for an indoor op in one facility to "see" for myself.

It does increase canopy yields. (over the 600 Rspec V2)
Is it worth the extra $?
NO.
With out any real increase in perceptible (and measured) over all yield (other then some real outstanding "mains"). I don't see the "value" to anybody but short plant - SOG or SCROG growers.

If your growing taller or non SCROG'SOG plants? Don't bother.

I still say you'll do better in the long run with good old 1K watt HID's in most tents and open room runs!
They have AT LEAST - TWICE+ the pentation over LED's...

I've gone to shorter plants under LEDs for the $ saved in electrical costs at my facilities.

Also - Be sure your getting the 301H diodes! They just AREN'T the same ....
