the big grow will be all planed out from a foundation we pour, but for now we gotta accommodate to what we find to get there.
 
but im not trying to get to far ahead of myself, planing for a plan is a lot when im already in the middle of expanding grow/experiment 1 LOL

ya im just working on the limited cultivation and popping some beans to see whats good or if i find any good phenos for that matter (or even a true female with how the seed reviews are off seed-city) in my home grow for now
 
oh and the clones(that im sure are trash) from the pot shop that are helping me dial in the lights and atmosphere till the beans get here
 
Selection of genetics is a real thing. A lot of people think that you can just grow some seeds and you are good. If you are cultivating for both quality and yield plus perhaps other factors, you have to go through a lot of stuff to find some real winners. I figure there is no point cultivating ditch weed nor is there a point in cultivating some super fire that yields poorly. Leave those poor yielders to the closet growers.
 
ya but at the same time its a real pain in the ass trying to find good genetics from seeds in the first place and theres not much point taking clones of someone elses bud up here cuz well they are already growing it sadly :(

would this change anything about using a quantum board style grow @Renfro
 
also these Chinese boards are ran through a meanwell driver, sense its a meanwell and thats all certified, would that mean the lights are certified to use?

TBH the whole fixture would need approval, how they make the electrical junctions, is it IP67, lots of factors they look for. As you stated, they didn't seem to have a rule at this time but they can change it. I wouldn't wanna say use DIY lights only to see you forced to change them in a year. I don't know how they go about things in your neck of the woods.
 
damn thats half what i figured though, but im actualy messaging that teknik guy right now about getting some lights in a couple weeks when they go into production. maybe the mh/hps combo with that would do nicely in a few small rooms. ill just give up on the led for now besides this route. he said getting ul certified might not be an issue with them being dc ass well, but hes also looking into that i suppose
