5 Gallon Bucket System

I've bought the 5 gallon simple drip system and have sprouted my seeds in plug starters.

How far down/deep into the hydroton (medium I'm using) do I need to place these plugs? Should it touch the bottom of the mesh pot?

Also, how close to the light can the plant be? (In terms of inches).

Put your plug into the hydroton like you would put it into soil, til it is level with the medium.

What kind of light are you using? How far you have the light depends on how strong the the light is.

Also, is it okay that some of the hydroton rocks have fallen into the resevoir? Will this harm anything?

They fall into mine all the time, I just pluck them out from time to time.

Start the light a few feet over the plant and lower it each day until it is about a foot over your plant. If it were a 1000 watt I would say lower it day by day til it was about 2 feet over the plants.

Great! Thanks so much for your help. I'm assuming you use the same type setup? Do you have the water level indicator and drip ring?

I'm a little confused as to how the plug will get water to it? If the ring drips around the plant, how does it actually reach it?

Do you have pictures of your set up anywhere? Would love to see how much hydroton I should be putting into the mesh pot..

My drip ring has been messed up as of recent...I was just changing the water and realized there was a tiny piece of media stuck in the water tube! Now that its removed, the pump is pumping really fast and water is almost at a point where it is just pouring out of the holes. Any idea of what to do??

Let it keep pumping. Constant drip hydroponics works well.
