Should I get a MH bulb to go with this as well, since it only comes with an HPS?

I orignally ordered a 1000w switchable but they forgot to ship the light with my other materials. This is good as I found out that I would not have been able to run a 1000w because it would have overloaded by breaker!

wow you need to go to www.htgsupply.com its way cheaper, and I would turn you towards a digi ballast, you can get a 600w digital cooltubed for less than what you got, you can do vegatative growth under cfls but if you want a MH will do a lot of good for it during veg.

Thanks. How would I implement my carbon filter with an air-cooled reflector? (the setup)

current setup
(carbon filter)--(intake fan)--|outside tent wall

i use those 430watt hps and thier great the extra 30 is the blue green spectrum for veg. it has an extra 30% not just 30 watts

you take your exhaust hose and put the carbon filter on the end of it.

BUT, why would you need to clean the air from around your light? its sealed. You should be carbon filtering your exhaust so you don't get cops a bangbangbangin on your front door.

The problem with the 430 ... I have it ... is many places don't carry it ... link provided ... and the bulb can be expensive ... the cheapest I can find it is for $54 to the door ... anyone else able to fine the 430watt HPS bulb cheaper?

paid 35 bucks for mine at the store though. online is usualy more.
son agro is the only company that makes them.

You said a 1000 watt would over load your breaker?! How many amps does a 1000 watt pull compared to a 600? It can't be much less and with fans running you might overload the breaker anyway. Just a thought.

1000w (1120w) is 9.5 amps and a 600w (720w) is 3.5 amps
Average house hold breaker holds 15amps.
