See now you went and got everyone confused, if you are confused go ahead and ask so you can get straight again.

You can Veg and Flower with the 400 HPS

Best Results are with HPS flower and MH to VEG

Most people use HPS to flower and Flourescent to Veg

You shouldn't use MH to Flower

You can buy conversion bulbs, these are special bulbs, then you could burn a metal hailde conversion bulb in an HPS ballast system or you could burn a high pressure sodium conversion bulb in a metal halide ballast system.

You rewire an HPS magnetic Ballast to light metal halide bulbs.

Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium bulbs all need ballasts.

There are magnetic ballasts and digital ballasts, magnetic are basically a big transformer and digital are mainly circuit boards.

If you order an HPS ballast it will only use HPS BULBS

If you order MH ballast it will only burn metal bulbs

If you order a switchable ballast the above 2 statements are null, I wrote them that way because generally that is how it works.

Does this clear up the confusion or add to it ?
